Mini vacation.

My husband and I took a mini wkend vacation to fall creek falls. LO is 8 wks. Did anyone else have a bit of difficulty letting LO stay overnight with grandparents? I know she is in good hands, but I feel like I've checked my phone every hour to make sure I haven't missed a call. Haha

Re: Mini vacation.

  • You're brave! I haven't even left DS for an hour with anyone by DH. And I think the max I've actually been away has been less than an hour. We are planning our first coffee date this week (DS is 2 months on Monday).
I'm would definitely be checking my phone every 10 minutes if I was in your shoes.

  • I have not & will not doing over night for a long time. I'm breastfeeding and it's more of a hassle then it's worth pumping even when I leave for just a few hours. I do jump on the chance to go to the store without my LO tho! lol
  • I'm soo scared to leave him :/.. We are going to a concert next weekend and I'm already worried! I have to pump for at least 6 hours being away from him.. You are lucky that you feel comfortable leaving him

No overnights for me! I think i left my older son Alone sometime after he turned 2. Just wouldn't be able to relax if I did.
  • I have been a nervous wreck. I think I may of got two hours of sleep. We were suppose to stay two nights, but I told my husband I was ready to get back to our little nugget. It is very hard ladies. So we are on our way back as we speak. Haha
  • My version of a mini-vacation is when the baby naps for 2 hours in the daytime not on me so I can do something around the house!  :P  Enjoy it!
  • I'm just happy this LO takes a bottle of pumped milk so we can go on an evening date! Our first two did not. We've gone on 2 dates so far & that's been awesome for us. And I run out the door & don't look back!  We go away overnight once a yr. & leave LOs with grandparents. Money, time off & nursing all play a factor.
  • My idea of a min vacation was camping, with baby, on the oregon coast for the 4th of july. We got out of the house, saw some family, my amazing MIL helped out with my son when he was overtired and crying. Just having someone else calming him down was a mini vacation for me. But no overnighter for a loong time
  • I've already had 2 granny overnights (she lives 30 min away). She sends pics and updates but honestly I like having the mental break to sleep and get housework done without feeling guilty. I completely trust my MIL since she raised 4 kids so I have no problem leaving him with her. I like having a life outside being a mommy! It makes coming back to Jack even better and more refreshing for the both of us!
  • I totally agree. It was nice to get a mental break. But I sure did miss my nugget.

Don't worry!! It's only temporary. You and hubby will be able to relax someday!! My older son is off at sleepovers at his buddies all the time now and I miss him but it's a nice break.
