  • Week: 7+5

What's new with baby (size, development): We got the basic parts and are finishing them off with specialisation

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  Telling the grandparents tonight!

    Rant/rave/symptoms: Aches, exhuations

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"?  It used to be goats cheese, red wine and shit TV.  Lately it has been my garden, organizing (aka binge cleaning and throwing things out) and planning my DIY for Aug and Sept when I am off from work

  • Week: 7w4d

What's new with baby (size, development): blueberry snd working on those limbs

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: still house hunting!

Rant/rave/symptoms: I get rear ended yesterday! The woman was totally not paying attention and slammed into me at a looooong stop during rush hour. I get out of the car FUMING and she says I don't see any damage. Turns to get back in her car and I yelled you better hope I don't have a fing miscarriage! In retrospect I prob overreacted but I was so shook up ! Doc appt Monday

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"? Lay around and watch bad TV.
  • @EmeraldSea - I'm so sorry that happened! If it helps, accidents like that in this stage don't cause miscarriage. That's what my doctor said when we had a big accident when I was 6 weeks with my first (on the highway, we were hit by an idiot truck driver, no one was hurt though). But it was so scary, I've spent the weekend shaking! So, creepy internet hugs for you.

  • Thanks! Yeah I sort of figured as much I think I was more concerned that my stress level spiked! Not a fun way to start the day!
  • I know, I really spiralled back then, I was in shock, and then I started stressing about having a miscarriage over that, and then things got out of control. But you'll be fine!

  • Week: 5

What's new with baby (size, development): Baby is about .13 inches long and will double in size this week to about the size of an Appleseed.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  I have started researching different cribs and gliders online. THis weekend I might go out and start comparing prices. The next goal is to get the "office" room here at home converted to a nursery.

Rant/rave/symptoms: DH gave me his summer cold, I tire super easily, and my breasts feel like some one used them as punching bags...other than that pretty good so far. I have been drinking my kombucha (very small amounts) and it really seems to be helping with lack of energy and bloating/constipation issues.

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"? Read, play pool, train my dogs.

I am freaking out because I ate a microwaved hot dog. I totally forgot about the nitrates and listeria until I was 3/4 of the way done and I stopped. Should I call my doctor?
  • Week: 7w2d

What's new with baby (size, development): blueberry

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Counting down the days to my first doctor's appointment which is next Wednesday!!

Rant/rave/symptoms: My boobs stopped hurting and I haven't been as tired as I was before.  I'm sure everything is fine, but just want to have my first appointment and hear that precious heartbeat.  On the bright side, I had the most amazing dream last night that we had a beautiful baby girl - only weird part was that the doctor pierced her ears and put these huge earrings on her, not sure what that is supposed to mean, but I loved the dream anyway!

    Questions for the Group...

What do you like to do with your "alone time"? Run, yoga, cook, shop

I'm sure you will be fine. If you feel sick (beyond normal morning sickness like with a temp or uncontrollable vomiting) then call. Otherwise I wouldn't stress. I've had cold cuts and may have a hot dog next weekend at my daughters bday. It is not like you accidentally chugged three beers.

@MrsJP20082015 I did with my first and likely will again. I started them at 13 weeks after our NT scan. I still look through them occasionally. They are really fun! I only shared a couple on FB but every week my H would take them and I would get to work and add the week to them and then include the bump week update link in an email to him, so he could see what was happening with baby. We enjoyed it.
  • that's so fun! I want to do it so i could look back at my growing bump. I've always tried to imagine myself with a big ol pregnant belly so i think it will be fun to watch it grow by the weeks. Im also keeping a pregnancy journal so i plan to print & tape them next to it so i can look back! @jy725

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Saving my sanity and  going on an anniversary overnight in a hotel and nice dinner with my husband.  /sigh it's been way too long and living with the in-laws is starting to wear on us (we have a great relationship with them but we are so overly ready for our house to be completed).  Plus my other two kids are sick so we need a break (thankfully grandma gives amazing snuggles).  OOH we also bought a new pack n play with bassinet insert - I don't really want to buy a second crib (our second is still in his crib since he just turned one) so hopefully the PNP will work for a while.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Praying the nausea doesn't get in the way of a fun time tonight - yup I'm one of those weirdos who LOVES pregnant sex.

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"? What's this "alone time" you speak of?  Ok it ranges from binge watching Food Network/cooking contest shows (like Master Chef).  I could spend an entire day in the kitchen just making food.  If I had a weekend of alone time, I would probably binge read a book.

My doctor says it's fine to eat hot dogs so long as they are fully reheated/cooked to 160 degrees.

  • Week: 6+2

What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet little pea :)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Saving the $$ and trying to decide how to merge the guest room and office to free up what will be the nursery.

Rant/rave/symptoms: My morning sickness hasn't arrived today which is sooo nice! I just need to figure out the heartburn.

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"?
Binge watch bad TV. Well it's good to me. Haha. Or read a good book.

  • Week: 6w4d

What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet pea is developing a spleen.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: figuring out how to rest enough and hide my pregnancy all weekend as I stand up in one of my best friend's weddings.

Rant/rave/symptoms: I've been spotting brown for almost 48 hours. I'm assuming and hoping it's normal. I have an u/s on Monday morning so I'm going to keep monitoring it and only call the doctor if something changes (color, consistency, etc).

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"? Lay in bed and watch tv, read a book, catch up with friends.
  • Week: 5w, 5d

What's new with baby (size, development): apple seed

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I had an ultrasound yesterday after 3 days of spotting when I first got my BFP. I've had two miscarriages before and was terrified that they wouldn't find anything, but there was a definite sac with a little blob in it! And I could see the heart beating! Amazing! I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks with DD2, but I didn't think I'd be able to see much at 5w,4d with this one. I was so surprised I could see the flickering of the hb that early! The tech said its heartrate was 102, and the Dr. told me once you see a baby with a strong hb on an ultrasound, your chance for miscarriage drops to like 3%, so I'm finally starting to get excited that this is really gonna happen!

Rant/rave/symptoms: Just intense exhaustion. But I also just finished a week of teaching preschoolers at VBS for our church. Mad props to full-time preschool teachers. I'm dead on my feet after spending three hours a day with the crazy kids.

    Questions for the Group...

GTKY: What do you like to do with your "alone time"? Read, Netflix (I'm watching Friends right now. The fashion! Oh my.), Pinterest.

  • What's new with baby (size, development):
    Timtam's sweetpea-sized now!! Woo! 6 weeks!

    Rant/rave/symptoms:
I'm starting to feel a little off my food... This morning, I had the choice of some delicious leftover pasta or a sandwich on croissant bread (I LOVE croissants!) and both sounded totally gross to me. I had a bunch of tater tots for breakfast. Sometimes I'll think "OMG I'm so hungry" and take one bite and be like "Eww, eww, no no no!" My stomach doesn't know what it wants.

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"?
Video games, reading, drawing... And, lately, napping. :P

  • Week:  3 weeks 6 days
What's new with baby (size, development): Poppy seed
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just getting ready to meet with my doctor for the first time on Tuesday.
Rant/rave/symptoms: I have never peed so much in my life! Also, I don't understand how I can be starving and nauseous all at the same time.
Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"? I write and watch netflix. Also too much pinterest.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: getting ready to tell grammie and grandpa tonight. I bought count down blocks for when I was pregnant with ds and I think I am going to take them from grammie shelf and set it on the table with the weeks set for when they come home tonight.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Ugh nausea until about 3pm everyday. Definitely putting a damper on vacation. But I am sucking it up and trying to make the best of it.

Questions for the Group... What do you like to do with your "alone time"?
Read a book with a cup of tea, or play something on the wii.
