How much does everyone have accomplished?

Re: How much does everyone have accomplished?

  • My other 2 children are alive and I cook dinner every night and my house isn't a total wreck, so that seems like a big accomplishment for how I've been feeling lately. Closer to my son going back to school we will be doing a lot more house/rearranging. I want to be all done by the first week of November. So fingers crossed!

  • I am over the 20 week mark now and yesterday brought the first thing for the baby a onesie, to be honest i am not really buying anything because i am having a baby shower in October and have my sister in law who has a 10 week old and is planning to give me loads so i am waiting and will see what i need after.
Not getting a lot of clothes anyway because we are waiting to find out the sex
  • Today we put the first coat of paint up on the nursery walls. And a friend sent us a bib that says, "these fools put my cape on backwards." That is it.

Im 20+4 and haven't bought a thing other than a couple packs of diapers & wipes. I'm a STM and happen to be having the same gender (girl) as I did my 1st time around. Even though that was six years ago, I still have a few big items (changing table, pack & play, high chair ect...) so I'm feeling pretty good. We did paint the nursery this weekend and I'm in love with the color. We plan to buy the crib & mattress next weekend and we are being gifted a travel system. Also, I did do my registry today online through target.
  • I've done twenty kinds of nothing, and I'm twenty weeks today.

Okay, that's not quite true. We did buy the carseat on Friday because Target had a special and we saved $40, I've already bought the rug, and I know the crib and stroller I want. So I guess that's four kinds of something!

  • Uhm... My Pinterest board for all things LO has 138 pins on it, so I think it's safe to say I'm ahead of everyone....
  • Im 17 weeks today STM and so far we have the crib , car seat and thats it . Of course i have all the left over baby girl clothes from my first child ( so if its a girl im good in that department) but other then that im waiting it out til i have to walk the contractions into labor . With my daughter , i only had a crib and stuff from our baby shower so i went shopping for the rest the day she was born 40weeks 1 day to induce labor hihi. It worked then so im doing the same this time . I dont plan on painting or decorating the nursery until he or she is born , he or she will be sleeping in a little basinette in our room for the first few weeks so im in no rush to paint and get the nusery set up . Surprises happen And last time they said my daughter was a boy up until my 35 week scan so i had to return alot of the boy stuff i got from the shower .

  • I'm 20 weeks and 5 days and so far we have the crib, 2 boxes of diapers, and a big box of wipes. Hopefully, we will be able to get the nursery painted this weekend
  • We've gotten a coming home from the hospital outfit, two packs of diapers, a few children's books, and a box of wipes.  We're getting a crib and dresser from a friend in a month or so.  I've heard over and over again from friends and family not to get too much of the smaller clothing items as they grow so quickly and you won't use them all.  Because of this, I'm going shopping with my sister in a few weeks (she's had four children) to get the essentials.  We're having a baby shower in October and I'll fill in the remaining items we need following that.  I'm trying not to do too much early, as I'm totally one of those people that shop for Christmas all year and then forget what I've purchased and end up giving a ridiculous amount of presents.  I can totally see that happening with baby and I'm really trying to stop.

  • So far I have the travel system I got for a crazy good deal.. I'm in love with it! I also got a 4moms seat for 50! I'm waiting to buy clothes until we find out the sex. We did start a registry! We will finish it up on aug 3rd after my level 2.
  • We have bought the stroller and car seat. They were both pretty pricey so we don't expect people to purchase those if we had them on our registry. We also already had the crib (still in storage). We have decided on the babies bedding. I've only bought the quilt so far to make sure I like the colors, but when it comes in I will buy the rest. I've only purchased a few clothing items and that's really it. Our babies room is still currently our daughters playroom so we will have to condense as soon as we redo her room, which is in August.
  • Last week I posted that I had next to nothing, but now we have the crib built and bedroom rearranged to accommodate. The baby gate is set up so that pup can learn and be used to the new boundaries long before baby arrives. I also have two crib sheets and a changing pad preparing to ship from amazon.

We have a crib we have yet to put together, one car seat for each car and a stroller, 28 pocket cloth diapers and a bedding set. We are waiting on everything else until after the shower but we still have to get the room put together and buy baby a dresser. I'm not worried about clothes because I know my family will go over board, so I'm not even going to register for any. I would like to get a swing and the play yard with the bassinet/changer on top, as well. Hopefully my family and friends are generous lol
ETA We aren't asking for diapers as we are doing cloth. Mainly because my family has such bad reactions to scents/chemicals I would rather not chance it with a newborn. So all of those are already stripped and washed. We are asking for hand me down clothes and nice thrift store finds, as well. So I am hoping they wash before gifting. Less for me to do. Hehe

I'm having twins & literally have only two onesies - I've looked at cribs & nursery stuff but haven't bought anything or registered- I'm feeling nervous but still haven't started- ugh
  • Yeah nothing accomplished here either. This will be my third and I'm waiting for my anatomy scan as well.. Two more weeks!!!
  • I'm afraid we have done almost nothing. We literally have two outfits, some toys and books and towels and facecloths.

We don't know where we're going to be living when the baby is born, is the thing. So we don't want to invest in getting a nursery ready if we're no longer living in our current place.

Same! Although I have a stockpile of girly onesies lol. We have no idea where we'll be living when our little one comes. The thought of a nursery is driving me insane!
  • We are talking about nesting specific to nursery prep here, but has anyone gotten a head start on other stuff?

As I mentioned earlier in this discussion, the nursery is still a no-man's land. However, I have all of a sudden started to do some hardcore research into baby prep things (examples: which Boba carrier is best for me, how to be prepared for a baby that spits up in carrier, ordering breast pump through insurance, obsessing over Medela and Youtube breastfeeding and pumping videos). I simply did not care about any of this until like last week (which was 18 weeks for me).

Anyone else going through this sudden urge to get it together?
  • @erikaalzet Yes!! I've recently become obsessed with all things baby! I'm on a mission for old/used furniture my husband can repurpose. I'm also planning to reupholster a glider. It's all starting to feel real!

Also, I had a breastfeeding nightmare last night. I should lay off the research for a while. Haha
  • It's finally starting to hit me too! Sometimes I almost feel panicked because time is going by so fast!!
  • I've finally gotten some stuff done! The biggest thing would be I decided how we were rearranging and shifting bedrooms for the oldest 4!
  • After a few weeks of pestering me to start registries (from which only I and my MIL will shop) my mom built we into a slight panic. Then my MIL was here and we knocked out registries AR BRU, BBB, and Target. Plus she reminded me of all the things I already have from my son.

Now that DS has figured out how to climb out of his crib, MIL is helping me get a toddler bed which will free up his crib for the baby. They'll be in the same room and will share the changing table/dresser. I have some clothes and a pack n play with bassinet attachment still. Once we get DS a convertible car seat we'll have the travel system free for the baby. Last time the hospital sent us home with diapers and grooming tools and all sorts of stuff so I'm no longer worried. We can make it through and see what we get for Christmas.
  • We have all our camping gear in the room we will use for baby, so my hubby and I need to not only go through that, but go through two other storage spaces to put away said count gear! And then we can start to think about the nursery! I really want to get the crib set so I can put some clothes away!!

We won't be painting, but I will get some wall decor once I know the gender.
  • I haven't done anything at all! I've got all my stuff left over from my son so I think I'm in denial about what I need to buy. We've just found out this bub is a girl so we can start buying crib sheets etc and some clothes. I've got to through the spare room cupboard and turf some stuff and go through my sons clothes and get rid of probably most of it unless it is incredibly neutral. Still got ages to go :)
  • So far nothing... This is our third so we are just going to use the other kids clothes and crib.... So far we are hoping all we need are diapers. Work usually does a sprinkle so we will see about some diapers then.... But for my first I pretty much bought one outfit myself, a cute open foot sleeper that said little pot of gold.... Other than that I waited for the shower. Congratulations!

  • Finally got the spare room furniture situated in the basement and the baby his own furniture. Just have to shampoo the carpet in his room, which doesn't really need done but I just bought a new shampooer and want to use it. Lol.
Once we put the crib together that will be it until after the shower. Then I'll have clothes to wash and fold, I'm sure. But having it at 32 weeks so I have plenty of time to finish up if he decides to come a little early.
  • I have tons of clothes, the nursery furniture, the Moses basket, a sterilising system (I struggled to breast feed my last 2) bottles, nappys, wipes, a baby photo album, a baby book to note special milestones, lots of blankets, cot bedding and bumpers and all I need to get now is the pram, car seat, and a bouncy or swing chair and some paint for the unrest then that's it u think, I'm one of those people who has to have everything organised and finished way b4 baby gets here or I panic, I've also had the belief that a pram shouldn't be brought into the house to early but everything else is fine
