It's a long list: cosleeping, neglecting my dog, not wanting other people to hold or care for LO. Also, I never thought it was okay to let a baby cry it out, but now a little part of me is wondering at what age I can give a try.
@Sammy K and @lovethatcolosun I'm right there with you ladies! Thankfully it's not everyday but some days it's all I can do to avoid a meltdown. If it's not the TV it's the iPad. I never thought I'd let DS use an iPad before turning 2. YouTube Kids is one helluva babysitter though =P
Oh yeah I also vowed to be a good example by eating healthy in front of my kids. Ummm while it's true for the most part, I started being all sneaky with the junk food. Either I wait until DS is asleep to pig out or I'll snack while he's on the iPad. It's not just me. DH does it too.
Weird one but I swore I never would go without eating lol. I never understood when moms would say they don't have time to eat or they forget. It blew my mind that someone could just forget to eat! And now 6 weeks into motherhood i totally get it! If I don't forget to eat Id rather pick sleep over it any day. Plus I swear LO has radar for whenever I'm settled ready to eat. She could be quietly napping and the minute I sit down with something she's up
I never thought I would feel territorial over her. I mostly hate when other people are holding her (other than DH) and the thought of someone else caring for her gives me anxiety. Oddly enough, I am not anxious about her starting daycare in a month, but just of friends/relatives in a babysitting type situation. I think partly because she can be such a goofy and fussy eater in the evenings. We've talked about planning a movie date soon though to hopefully get more comfortable asking others for help.
I think my biggest one so far is co-sleeping. Now that we've mastered the side lay position for BF it's just too tempting when I'm all sleepy. I rarely co-slept with DS because I pumped and bottle feed him at night. I feel like she's becoming dependent on my snuggles for a good night sleep these days. Maybe it's time we transitioned to the crib....
I said I would never feel/act like my dog is "just a dog" but I do. It's a lot harder to manage LO and the pup. Granted he is blind (like has no eyes blind) and a little hard of hearing. It took him about a week to realize LO was in the house haha. God love him!

My little one is the same way! I can feed him just before I eat even, but the second I have food in front of me (at home or out) all of the sudden he needs to eat again! I've gotten really good at holding him with one arm and eating with one hand lol
Definitely the sleeping on me/sleeping in bed thing and not eating.
Also, I swore I would have her in all of these cute little outfits, but since she screams HYSTERICALLY when she has even a drop in her diaper we change her upwards of 15+ times a day, and undoing anything more than a onesie is just too freaking much.
And when he's not sleeping on boob, he is happily sleeping on his tummy... To all that feel guilty for doing this, don't! It's what is comforting them and the "new" sids research has everyone feeling like a bad parent, there is a lot more to that research, tummy sleeping is how babies should sleep... Do not feel bad

Same with our dog. Suddenly, his drool and cuddles aren't as cute anymore. Poor guy! DH makes sure to play with him and give him attention every day. I haven't been as intentional about it.
I actually said I was never going to breastfeed. It's so natural for some but for me I have always felt the opposite. Well I decided to try it because I did not want to look back one day and wish I had. It's now been 6 weeks and we are still doing it . I never thought this would happen.

I actually eat when he eats. I get my food all set up, then get him situated on the boppy and latched on. Once he is latched he likes to take 15-30 minutes to eat, so I just eat over him, or lean my head to the side and shovel food in.

I've draped paper towels over LO. Girls gotta eat.

Last night I put LO in the carrier, walked around until she fell asleep, put the sun shade over her head to protect it from crumbs, and then stood at the kitchen counter eating my dinner. I gave zero fucks as I actually got to eat warm dinner instead of taking dining shifts with DH.
I swore she'd be in the crib from day 1 but she hated it and is next to our bed in the pnp bassinet at night. Lately she hates that too...i haven't done it yet but I'm about 2 seconds from cosleeping. If I wasn't afraid it would be impossible to transition to the crib before I went back to work after cosleeping for two months I would have done it already.

I've dropped so much food on this baby doing the same thing. I've mastered the art of one handed eating. DH now knows he has to cut my neat for me and put a straw in my water.
The one thing I miss about BF is being able to one-handed eat. LO is hungry as soon as dinner is finished every single time, and bottle feeding is a two-handed job. Ugh.
On par with everyone else - cosleeping! In fact we just took a nap together. This is something I never did with my first child so I'm still surprised I'm doing it now with number two. But he is such a cuddled and sleeps so much longer. Hard not to!! And my apologies to anyone I ever judged for cosleeping.
We've tried to cosleep. I'm not doing it right because she doesn't like it. Or sleeping on my chest anymore. She just kicks all day. I put her in the pack n play full crib today and she was happy as a clam kicking around and jabbering to herself. Why did I get the only baby who doesn't like snuggling past a month old?

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

Mine doesn't much anymore. I wish I could calm her down by putting her on my chest like the good old days. Of 3 weeks ago. She's too attentive to do it now - she looks at everything and pushes away instead. It makes me sad.
I feel better reading that mine quit being snuggly too. She loves sleeping in her swing now. She doesn't even sleep well on me, seems restless. Let's go with independent kids!!
I said I would never change my child at the table at a restaurant but...what do you expect me to do with no where to change her in the bathroom? Walk out to my car? Ugh

I always made fun of women who would sit in the backseat with baby and couldn't understand why they did it...bringing LO home after a month in the NICU, and guess what I couldn't stop myself from wanting to do. DH and I had 2 cars so I was forced to drive with LO in the back by himself, but until he bulks up and can hold his own head...I will likely end up sitting back there with him
Re: What have you done (so far) that you said you'd never do.

I'm saying this as I have a sleeping kiddo on my chest for the first time in weeks. :x
