Intro post (loss and kiddos mentioned)

Hello!

We've been TTC #3 for 6 months now (just started cycle #7). We have two boys, 6 and 3 and we had a mc between the boys.

All three of those pregnancies/conceptions were "easy". I knew I was lucky to not have had to worry about it, but to now have been trying for this long feels so strange. I have always had compassion for women struggling to get pregnant. I have walked the infertility road next to close friends. But somehow I never expected to be having a hard time.

Since I'm over 35 I called the doctor when I started this cycle and have an appointment in 2 weeks. Anyone care to share their experience if you've had "that" kind of an appointment?

Welcome Anne,
I too have children and have had luck getting pg in the past, however in the past year I've had 2 mc's and it seems like now it's harder to get pg.

I haven't seen a fertility dr yet, however I did have some blood work done to rule out medical issues (thyroid, blood clotting disorders, preliminary genetic testing.)
Everything came out "normal"...so I'm just charting, taking prenatals, and eating clean.

Hope you get some answers, and better yet a bfp asap!

This appt is with an OB, so I assume that's what they'll do for me too. I don't have any interest in doing anything more invasive quite yet anyway.

So sorry about your losses! Hope it's soon for you too!

When I was TTC#1, at the six month mark, I went to the OB.  I had labs done, got an order for a HSG test and a semen analysis for my hubby, a prescription for Clomid, and a referral to a RE.  This seems pretty standard with OBs.  You can do as much or as little of that as you want.  Good luck!
