TTC after 35

An Update...

FINALLY got to speak with nurse at fertility clinic. DH's sperm count came back at 13mil/ml (didn't say what the motility was). So not great. So the chances of me being pregnant are not good. If I don't start by Monday I'm to go in for bloodwork. But I want bloodwork reguardless to find the reason for the pink spotting and late periods. I need to know what's going on or I can't track accurately. I feel like this clinic isn't on top of things and they are supposed to be the best.

Re: An Update...

  • Hope you get some answers asap., I don't have any experience with your situation so I don't have any advice, just support.

  • So, I'm sure you know this, but it only takes one sperm, right?  Good luck.  My advice would be that if you don't feel like your clinic is doing everything they should, find a new one!

  • Lol @emsmama15 yep. Just one. They test again his sperm next week. If they get over 15 mil I think they can begin the process of separating out the good ones for freezing and IUI
  • Have you ever been checked for polyps? I was having unusual spotting a few years ago and my dr checked me. I didn't have any, but the spotting can be a sign and it can affect fertility. I'm not sure about late periods tho. Anyway, I hope you get good results next week and that your clinic is more responsive. Good luck!
  • Yep. They did a full ultrasound on me about 2 months ago. All my tests came back fine. My bloodwork good. I had plenty of eggs still. The pink spotting I had would have been timed perfectly to be implantation. It was pink and mucous. However I am beginning to wonder if I O'd a week late (which I've never done) and that was ovulation spotting (also which has never happened).
Who knows. My body is a mystery now! Lol
  • Good luck with everything!!
  • It seems like, the instant we decide to TTC, our previously clockwork bodies become CRAZY and unpredictable.  Good luck @AMDR1979!!

  • Good luck to you! And @emsmama15 is totally right: the second we decide we want to get pregnant, our bodies decide to play tricks on us!
  • I thinks it's all a cruel joke!
And then last night we were at some friend's that have an infant and of course they kept telling DH he needed one of "these" in reference to the baby.
  • I hope this makes you feel better but when I was TTC my first, my DH got his sperm counted. It came back with decreased mobility and Low sperm count. I got pregnant literally that month. I had another friend with the same story. I hope that makes you feel better and I don't come across as preachy. Just a hopeful story :-)
  • @jlo1019 that's makes me feel a little hopeful!!!
  • AMDR1979, people can think they are being harmless by making comments like 'you need one of these'.  Then, after working for years at one - people will continuously ask you when you're having another.  Cashiers, friends, random people on the street.  I just want to shout, 'my uterus, my business!'.
    Fingers crossed for you!!

since I'm so late - I'm now going to comment on your TWW post ;)
