My mothers middle name is spelled Cecelia, is that not the traditional way? My mind has just been blown
Yes, Cecilia is the traditional spelling. It is the feminine form of Cecil.
**edited for quote box fail**
Yeah, I was gonna say, "Cecelia" spelled like that sticks out to me MUCH more than "Rylee" or "Charlee." It just looks like a typo.
From my understanding the spelling of it like that derives from Latin--- I could be wrong
Cecelia is an accepted variant of Cecilia. I actually prefer it. There are often etymologically accepted variant spellings of names based on their location of usage, ie Vivian/Vivienne, Catherine/Katherine, etc.

At the end of the day. This is your child. How you wish to spell the name is truly up to you. Just remember that when picking a name you don't want the child to grow up hating it because society these days with child bullies are ruthless. My name is Toniann. My last name consists of the first three letters being man. Although it's a unique and pretty name, growing up I was call Toni man. I hated it. I love the names. I personally would go with Harper. I love Rylee as well. But like I said before, this is your child. No one else's.
Have you thought of the name Charlotte? That can easily be shortened to Charlee, and might look better on a college application or a resume. For whatever it's worth, my female dog is named Charley, but I think it is an adorable girls name. I do agree with pp's though, and feel that the spelling you have chosen might not be the best for your daughter down the road.
I didn't even know the double e thing was trendy, I just liked it. I'm naming my daughter Rylee. I love it, my best friend, who graduated early while taking AP classes spells her name Kelsee. Her teachers never treated her different for it and she often gets compliments on how she spells her name.

Ok, but school =/= resumes. I think the point people are making is about what those who DONT already know you infer from a name.
"Lee" is a family name and has been passed down for generations on the female side. My name is Anjolee. My daughter's name is Emmalee. We are having a boy, but had this baby been a girl, she would have been named Rylee. I have a Masters degree in Communications and a director at my company for 15 years.

Just name YOUR baby whatever you want. A name as nothing to do with a future profession it's all about the way you raise her.
Of course she can name her baby whatever she wants. No one is disputing that. She asked for opinions, and people gave their opinions along with some very informative studies.

I wasn't very happy with my response from the name board either. Some people will see a unique name spelling as 'uneducated' but that is YOUR child and it's YOUR choice. If your child doesn't like their name, they can always change it when they are 18, or go by another nic name, that's totally acceptable. I think a unique spelling can make a name more unique and special for a child, and in this case with the spellings you suggested, anyone will definitely be able to pronounce the name, it's very clear what the name is ! I really like the name Riley, any spelling. I decided that it is better for me not to ask strangers options about my name choices, because I don't like the answers, it's better for me the make the decision myself with the opinion of friends and family.
I think some people make unique spellings or names a bigger deal than they actually are. There's a difference between a unique name and a weird name. Naming your child Jena and naming her Rainbow are too different things. And as far as trendy names, years ago, "Tiffany" & "Brittany" we're trendy names just like our children will be in a classroom full of Aidens, Jayden's, Brayden's, & and -lee's. Names evolve.
PS I'm a Robynn so I know first hand...it's not that bad
I read some of the comments said to you and then couldn't go on reading anymore. Although there are some people being helpful and respectful, the majority seem outright rude. This is YOUR child. And the meaning and spelling of your child's name is up to YOU. Yes, the spellings of the names you like are unique but that doesn't mean you seem uneducated or that your child will be seen that way. I don't think either one of your choices is the most unusual spelling I've ever seen by no means. Every name and its different spelling were new at some point. Maybe you'll start a trend. Good luck to you! I hope my comment has helped!
I get a lot of crap from people because my sons middle name is Xadrian. It was supposed to be his first name but family members couldn't pronounce it. I really don't like common names at all. Although my sons first name is really common its a family name so I don't mind. I'm on both sides though. I work at a place where I have to make name tags for kids all the time and the unique spelling of common names drives me crazy sometimes. But that's mainly when the parent (or the kid) gets an attitude about how I spelled the kids name "wrong". That being said I don't think you spelled the names to different like some of the names I've seen, they're all beautiful. I'm not much of a fan of Charlee though. But like others said just giving my opinion
There's a difference between uncommon names and made-up names. I too am a fan of less common names, but it's the made-up creative liberties that some parents take that make me cringe.
I just can't understand why parents don't just let their children's personalities make them unique instead of trying to shove "uniqueness" at them even before they're born. What happens if the child does not grow up to be some kind of special unicorn riding unique person but just ends up being a typical kid? I like my children not having the same name as 10 other kids in their class but I still prefer to keep their names spelled appropriately since in the end a name spelled differently won't amount to a hill of beans when someone says it. It will still sound the same.
Not a super useful addition perhaps, but my sister is a Charlie. She was the fourth girl, so this was my parents' way of passing on my dad's name. Her middle name is Charles, (she has a normal for the 80's first name) but she goes by Charlie. She's always loved being a little special/unique. As a side note, the hot instructor in Top Gun was also a Charlie.
Not sure if this is a consideration for the OP but I'm thinking Charlotte/Charlie is going to explode in popularity b/c of the new princess.

I love the movie Top Gun... and I was thinking that Charlotte/ Charlie/Charlee is going to explode in popularity because of the princess
Re: posted this on the name board... didn't get a whole lot of helpful comments.

Another vote for Harper Cecilia.
I can't get behind the spelling of Rylee or Charlee. I think they are too trendy and won't suit an adult woman, at all.
