Back pain :(

I've been experiencing back pain (on and off) for almost a week now, I went to the ER on Saturday (4 days ago) and they hooked me up to a monitor to see if It was contractions but it wasn't. The only thing that helps seems to be when j sit in a chair and put my feet up. I've been having a lot of aches and pains (sometimes sharp pains) these days, even in my lower abdomen which I've read can be round ligament pain? I'm really trying not to worry.. Can anyone relate? I will call my dr tomorrow

Re: Back pain :(

  • All you describe can be run of the mill pregnancy pains. Gentle stretching can help in the morning & evening.

Lots & lots of water. Do get screened for a UTI. Those can sneak up.

Try a banana or two throughout the day. The magnesium can help with the Charlie horses & RLP.

  • Yes ! Im 24 weeks and have had the round ligament pain and back pain for a while now. I will agree with PP that LOTS, I mean a lot, of water helps me. It doesn't make it stop completely, but definitely alleviates it. The further along I get the more aches and pains I feel.

Hope you get some relief soon !

  • Thanks ladies! I hope you feel relief soon too seelwood!im a hairdresser so I don't think standing on my feet all day helps much, (trying to cut some of my hours) good luck and thanks for the response!
  • I am very front heavy and it has put a lot of strain on my lower back and believe it or not on my bladder. My doctor recommended a maternity belt with back support. I wear it under my clothes and you cannot notice it. It really does help even though it is goofy looking. I am 19 weeks and my bump is at 41" fyi.

  • My dr. said a chiropractor was good to visit - I never went to one before. It helped soooooo much! If you are insured, visits may be covered or just your Co pay.
  • The chiropractor really does help! Just make sure you tell them you ate pregnant and that they are comfortable with that. Make sure to do research on credentials before you schedule an appointment
