16 weeks and suffering from major indigestion and heartburn

im only 16 weeks and I can't seems to enjoy food anymore...I'll eat little snacks here and there during the day and will feel like I stuffed myself. I absolutely have no room for dinner and feel like food just keeps sitting there and nothing is moving along. Heartburn usually starts by dinner even though I haven't ate anything for couple hours before dinner. Anybody experiencing the same? If so what can I do to make the symptoms less severe? I'm miserable here :(

  • Probiotics, eat clean, water w/ lemon. Walking after meals can help too.

    I have been taking indigestion/heartburn lollies. They have a chalky taste due to the calcium or magnesium carbonate and usually have a minty flavour.

    I take it when i have the burning sensation.

    Since week 11 of pregnancy i can only drink maximum 500ml of water and eat 1/3 of my normal dinner portion at a time and then wait 2 hours to eat again after i have urinated otherwise i will vomit the excess liquid/food out.

    You need to play around to find out what works for you but stay away from citrus/spicy acidic foods as these willmmake it worser. Hope this helps u and look for those lollies. I take mine at night just b4 bed when i really feel the indigestion
  • Around week 9-11 I had your this issue. I couldn't eat, couldn't drink, and went to the hospital for dehydration. It turned out my prenatal was the culprit. I stopped taking it and within days was back to normal, and had to find one without iron.

    Unfortunately as your pregnancy progresses, you likely will have eating and heartburn issues again due to baby getting bigger, and the only way to stop that is birth!
  • If you find something that works let me know mine is awful.  I tried Tums and they don't do anything.  I'm pretty sure it isn't a good idea to eat a whole bottle like I did last week.
  • Ginger - tea, beer, candy. Tums did nothing for me but ginger tea saved my life. I drink it all the time and it relieves everything!
  • Yep... I have the exact same thing... I feel totally stuffed after every meal and I have to avoid certain foods that cause reflux... And I'm still getting it frequently!! Tums made it worse so I'm using altoids after each meal which is helping... Good luck :)
  • I have the same thing going for me. I found out the pickle juice is my BEST friend for heartburn! If you don't mind pickles, or pickle juice, youxan always try that! At least burping pickle juice, is better than burping acid from the tummy! :D:))
