To tired to "nest"

I am a FTM and am 31 weeks with twin boys. I have a real urge to clean and get everything perfect for them to get here! But the problem is that I am WAY to tired and exhausted to do almost anything at all! I might even say I'm more tired than I was in the 1st trimester! And that is saying something! My husband has even been cooking dinner every night for the past week or so. I just can't seem to get into gear and get ready for these babies!

Is anyone else experiencing extreme fatigue like this?? Any suggestions?

Re: To tired to "nest"

  • I am also 31 weeks but only one baby. I do have fatigue but the heat is what is keeping me from being able to clean like I want to. I have been doing small spurts at a time. This way I can get a little done at least without over pushing/heating myself.

  • Yup. The heat is slowing me down quite a bit. I want to do soooo much more than I can manage.
  • I only have one baby in there but I have been so tired. I can't imagine two!! We are pretty busy every weekend until mid August, about 5 weeks until myn due date. There isn't to much I have to do but I plan on becoming a hermit and getting everything done in those couple weekends. If baby come early, oh well, it will be good enough. I go back and forth between extreme nesting and extreme napping LOL!!

  • Me!!! I finally admitted to my husband that I'm going to have to start napping with my 2 year old just to make it through the day. I wasn't this tired the 1st trimester. I want to stay busy so I'm not just waiting for him to get here but the heat and my hip and back pain is making it hard. Almost done. ...
  • As soon as i hit 30 weeks its like i hit a brick wall of fatigue. It takes everything I have just to make it through work. Hopefully it gets better for all of us.
  • Yes! I think I am much more tired than the first trimester. I have so much that I want to get done & zero energy. I'm lucky to complete 1 or 2 tasks a day. I'm exhausted, but can't sleep because my ribs and back hurt so badly. I am up all night tossing & turning & peeing! Haha I'm 31 weeks today and counting down to delivery! I won't mind being up all the time taking care of baby girl, but being awake for no good reason & uncomfortable is just maddening.
  • Me too!

I work a physically demanding job while pregnant with my first one, and have no ac in my car. Between the heat (which has been stressful with myasthma), and walking 8 miles a day at work, I have no energy at all!

Thank God for my mother, who had summers off as a teacher. She started coming over to help me organize my house and get the nursery ready. If not for her, I wouldn't even be this ready.
  • I'm pregnant with my third and way more tired now then ever. I have a 7 and 4 year old they keep me busy. I'm a teacher so I have the summer off and was thrilled that I would be able to accomplish so much but am too tied to do anything!
  • I am 33 weeks with 1 baby and I feel like I am back at that dreaded 1st trimester exhaustion..only with heartburn, baby weight and difficulty sleeping thrown in!

We are nearly there ladies! Just not close enough. On the plus side for me...3 more shifts til maternity leave...3 being 12 and a half hour shift..2 being nightshift....omg! Haha x
  • I'm way too tired to nest but I don't even have the urge to best anymore! Even though I still have stuff to do, I just wanna sleep.

It sounds terrible to say but I'm over this, the preparing stuff. I just want my baby here.
I'm soo done with all the prep work and shopping and cleaning.
Let me get my prize for the past few months of hell, already!!
  • Definitely exhausted. Sleep is a joke and had been most of this pregnancy. I'm a first time mom, and even with the lack of sleep newborns can present I'm pretry site I'm get better sleep then than I do now. Lately it's been harder and harder to get up on time for work. Luckily I live 5 min away.

No clue how I've survived at work, let alone with all the life changes since pregnancy (bought a house for the first time, moved to a new city-close by but more change, new job-same company but in the city we moved to, water heater went out bought and installed a new one, bought a safer and newer car...just thinking about it is exhausting!

The lack of sleep is driving me insane :(

I'm only 29 weeks but I'm also exhausted in the evenings after work!! The heat definitely isn't helping but I haven't been able to prepare at ALL!!! My fiance and I need to move before the baby comes and due to him being in the military we can't until 9/1 when I will be 36 weeks pregnant! As first time parents we have nothing for the baby currently and are waiting till after our baby shower to make any purchases to prevent any duplicates. So I'm just anxiously waiting for time to pass so I can BEGIN to nest and put a room together for the baby but I'm afraid I'll be too tired, moving will take a lot out of me. Any advice or suggestions please??
  • I am 32 weeks pregnant and I am extremely tired. I do bit by bit of cleaning but my husband has been a great help. We set up a babymoon this weekend and I excited but drained at the same time. We're almost to the finish line!
  • The only nesting I want to do is lay in bed with my best of 5 pillows...just 1 baby.

31 weeks w/twins is pretty far along, you should be taking it easy!
  • Feeling the same here! I'm a Type A personality so I want to get all the prep work done now before LO gets here so I won't be doubly exhausted later on. But all I want to do is sleep and curl up with my dog with black and white movies playing in the background.
  • I'm not actually too tired to "nest", I'm in way to much pain to "nest"! I can't move without tears in my eyes and all I want to do is clean my house! It's not really dirty actually it's pretty clean however I want it to be like super clean! Like I want to shampoo the carpet and rearrange the living room furniture, but I just can't stand or sit for more than 10 minutes without feeling like my bottom half is going to break! I wish it was just exhaustion and not pain! But in a little more than 5 weeks I'll be a mom to a precious little boy and that's all that matters!!!
  • I hear ya there. I have a lot of physical pain and feel like crying at least once a day. My joints are so sore, but my wrists/hands are in the worst pain. With or without braces they hurt so bad. Makes it hard to want to do anything!
