Did you get results on the spot after your NT scan or did you have to wait? If so, how long?
My appointment is tomorrow and I am extremely worried and eager for some good news. Thanks for any feedback!
I have mine on Friday and my doctor told me that since I already had the first trimester screening blood work done a couple of weeks ago, they will be able to give me the results right there when I get the ultrasound. I understand what you mean- it's the kind of appointment where immediate feedback is appreciated!
I did mine when I was 11+3. A few days before, I google-imaged NT scans normal versus abnormal so if nothing else, I could get an alright idea by looking myself on the screen, and then at the scan, I asked the US tech "oh is that the nasal bone? And the spacing behind the neck looks normal? " Sometimes the tech doesn't want to tell you because of liability or whatnot, but it never hurts to ask for confirmation of what you already see. The blood test results should come back within a few business days. If you don't hear anything in 3-5 days, just call and ask if the results came in, there's no harm in it. I got mine done on a Thursday and called on a Tuesday and they had the results, which were normal. Good luck and congrats!
They did my blood work a week before my 12+2 NT scan so they already had that back. They told me the results of the measurements themselves within five minutes after the ultrasound.
My bloodworm gets sent to a different lab because of my insurance. They told me 7-10 days and I think it was about 9 when I got the call back. Good luck!
They told me the measurements were fine right away. The techs wouldn't tell me but within two minutes of them finishing up the doctor came in and told me. I got the bloodwork results back 4 days later. Just a phone message saying all was "normal". Fine with me.
They told me my ultrasound looked good and didn't see anything that would concern them. I actually didn't get the blood test results back for about 1.5 weeks which were mailed to me. I'm assuming if anything had been abnormal they would have called sooner.
I had my blood drawn last week and am going for my ultrasound tomorrow. Last time the doctor provided the results a few minutes after he finished up looking at my ultrasound, so expecting the same tomorrow.
As long as they have the blood results already, they'll tell you right away. I got my results within like 5 minutes of them finishing the ultrasound. Took a while to get a good shot of the baby's neck (where they look to measure fluid) though.
Wow lucky ladies. We were told my blood results would take 2 weeks! I am dying to find out if the baby is ok! I had to stop myself from calling 3 times today, it's been one week so far.
Like some of the other ladies, I had already gotten my blood results. I'm not sure if that's why, but the doctor said my measurements out loud and told me they were all normal before we even left the room. Hope that helps!
Update: I followed @arose3eb's advice and Googled info ahead of time so I would know. The tech was kind enough to tell me everything was normal in addition to that.
I didn't have the NT done per se, as I opted for the MaterniT21 test as insurance covers due to my age. At any rate, had my scan at 12+1. Measured 12+6 incidentally. But after the scan the doc came in and said everything measured fine. So that was certainly a little reassurance. Will be a week or so before I get my results from the MaterniT21.
I got the scan results right away, the technician commented a little bit and then a doctor came in and confirmed that everything looked fine according to the scan. I had my blood drawn at that moment, but that didn't stop them from giving me results of the scan itself. I'm in Canada so it might be different here.
I had mine today. I was surprised at how long it took-almost an hour- because the baby wouldn't face the right way. The tech finally got some good images and measured the neck and explained the results right away. She said everything looks good and that the blood test, which my nurse said would take 3 days or so, is the next "test" I need to pass.
