Introduction (previous children mentioned) and a question or two

Hello ladies!! I'm 36 and TTC number three! I have a 12 year old and 5 year old DDs from a previous marriage. Currently it's my DH that has fertility issue as after years of trying to conceive we finally got tested and found he had zero sperm. Zero. So the doctor has had him on hcg injections as well as testosterone for just over two months now. The goal is to freeze a good sample if we get there and do IUI.
So my first question is for those who have had partners use hcg, how fast does it work?
Honestly I haven't been tracking my ovulation seriously other than a basic chart because I thought there was no way he could get me pregnant so soon. Then last Sunday, at 6-7 DPO I spotted some pink mucousy blood in the morning. I'm still three days before my period so I'm not even wanting to test. Are there other causes for pink spotting. All Google is saying is implantation but I have a hard time believing we got pregnant naturally. Oh and DH gave a sperm sample Friday so sometime this week we should have results.

Thank you. Here is an update. Today is scheduled AF day. I usually wake up to cramps and have started. Well nothing. Still not going to believe anything. Give it a day or so in case I'm off because of that spotting or what. Very nervous. Waiting for DH's sperm count too to come back
