Officially Back but on the bench

Hey,

So long story short my last pregnancy failed. The heart stopped beating somewhere in my 8th week but baby was only measuring around 6 so we knew there were issues, it wasn't a supprise. I waited a week to see if anything would happen on it's own MC-wise but it hasn't so today I took the pill that's supposed to get the ball rolling on that. Needless to say I'm disappointed and frustrated. This is our second MC this year so I'm not feeling great about our chances. Doctor told us to wait 2 cycles to try again which seems like so far away but I know it's good advice. Next time she will put me on progesterone and baby aspirin to see if it helps.

Anyway, I haven't felt like Bumping much but will probably lurk and comment every once and a while until I'm back in the grove of TTC again.

Thanks again to all you ladies who gave been so supportive every time I posted about my troubles. This community is awesome :)

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you and your OB can come up with a successful plan when you are ready to try again.
  • I'm so sorry for your losses. I've been through two this year as well so I understand. Honestly waiting two cycles goes by very quickly and it's just now, during my second cycle since my D&C, that I am even interested in trying again. You need time to heal and you will heal over time. Sending hugs and prayers during this time.
  • I'm so sad to read this :( so sorry!!
  • Oh, hearing this just breaks my heart! You poor thing. I went through two miscarriages last year so I know how hard it is to move on, stay positive, and to want to keep trying (or to feel scared of trying again). But it's good that you have a new plan for the next time. I'm also taking progesterone, although I can't speak of its benefits as of yet because I can't seem to get pregnant again. It seems like you are able to get pregnant pretty easily so hopefully the progesterone will be the key. I know two months is a long time but I think it'll be good to recover emotionally. Sending you lots of hugs as you get through this challenging time.

  • @rspalding001 so sorry, was really hoping things were going to work for you. Will they do any testing? With my miscarriage last year, we did genetic testing. It was crazy expensive but we learned that it was a trisomy 16. I did find some comfort knowing why we lost the baby. Anyway, I wish you all the best and good luck when you decide to try again. Hugs.

  • Lurking- I can't believe this is happening to you again... just sending you big big hugs. I really hate that you have to go through this. I am so sorry. My one success I took baby aspirin and progesterone. I also took really good prenatals that were whole food based and contained natural folate instead of folic acid. (I additionally took extra folate and B-12 because of my MTHFR.) I'll never know if it really made a difference but it was the only time I took all the supplements for a few months before getting pregnant so I wonder if it helped my body prepare to sustain a pregnancy...at any rate, I hope the baby aspirin and progesterone will help you. Keeping you in my thoughts and letting you know I'm here.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
