FFFC

What is your FFFC?

I have had the unhealthiest week humanly possible (burgers, croissants, bagels loaded w/ cream cheese, fries, etc) and I'm totally using pregnancy as my excuse when in fact I'm just being a glutton. I mean... this is what prenatals are for... right?  To save LO from my obvious self destruction.

Re: FFFC

  • It's glutton week! I have eaten my body weight this week. And most of it has been delicious, stodgy, heavy carbs. I regret NOTHING. I've already devoured a completely amazing iced cinnamon Danish this morning for second breakfast, and I'm about to order my favourite ever grilled veggie wrap for my lunch (sounds healthier than it is....). I need ALL OF THE FOOD.

  • OP, my thoughts exactly on prenatal pills! I've been at home with my parents and they are like the food police!! It's like I'm only allowed celery and healthy stuff. Little do they know I have a stash of cookies, tooties frooties, and chips under my bed. I'm way excited to be back home where I can eat what I want withou judgment. And I'm about to down this awesome chicken wrap with delicious sweet potato fries. I'm literally hungry every hour.

I ate four Outshine bars yesterday...  I had one because I was hot after coming in from outside after work, and it triggered a chain reaction.  Oops!

I think there's crack in those things. It's impossible to have just one!

I totally would have eaten more if I hadn't already eaten the other two the day before.  Not going to lie.

They're popsicles made with fruit.  They used to just be called Fruit Bars, but they were reformulated and rebranded somewhat recently.

I knew I shouldn't have come in here..... *droops shoulders and walks back out to Gestational Diabetes land*. Can you tell I'm struggling with my diagnosis?
Have you seen a nutritionist yet?  Mine basically gave me carb limits per meal/snack and as long as I stay within those I'm golden.  I haven't checked the carbs on these, but if it's too high you can probably make your own with unsweetened fruit juice and splenda.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

  • I had an appointment this morning. I've gained too much weight. I've got to start eating healthier. Ugghhhh :(
  • Mine is that I'm kind of excited about coming in to work tomorrow and making 50hrs this week.  That used to be my usual, but hours got cut back to 45 and I'm struggling some weeks to make that.

Today at 3pm. So far today, I've had coffee, an Atkins breakfast shake, a sting cheese, and just had a cottage cheese because I don't know what to have that isn't bready, high in hidden sugars, or cold cuts. I know that's probably not much healthier, but nothing sounds appealing, and cooking hot meat on a hot day for lunch doesn't sound good, either. I'll stop being a downer on the thread now.

You could treat yourself at five guys or almost any burger place and just get a lettuce wrap in lieu of a bun for your burger.  It's yummy and can really hit the spot.  Eggs are good and quick too.  Crustless quiches/egg muffins are great for breakfast or snacks.  *hugs*  You'll get the hang of it.

I'm way more active and eat a lot better with this pregnancy than I was with my first, but I was so much better about taking prenatals with my first. I feel like 2-3 times a week I realize I never took it yesterday :/

  • I'm doing awesome this pregnancy with food and weight gain but I'm 100% positive it's due to the thyroid medication I'm taking. The days I forget to take it lead to me gorging on everything, but the days I take it I can go hours without a meal. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be the opposite.

DS2 is currently loving fruit and ice cream, yay for no more carbs!

On Tuesday I made my BF drive me to Taco Bell, which we waited 45 minutes in the drive thru for a bean and rice burrito, to McDonald's for a dollar chicken sandwich, and to jack in the box for their tacos...and I ate it all when we got home. No shame in my craving game, no shame.

I'm sure there are other ladies here in the GD boat that might have suggestions...  Come out, come out, wherever you are!
  • I had s raspberry filled Krispy Kreme donut for breakfast.... It was awesome
  • In a moment of hunger desperation this morning at work, I dunked two Chips Ahoy cookies into the jar of PB I keep in my desk. It was worth it.
  • My moms new boyfriend is a retired pastry chef. He made me my own personal cheesecake which has been my thing lately. Safe to say I love this new man of hers :x
Sweet.  Cheesecake is going to be my "push present" from my boyfriend. . .  or a white chocolate bread pudding or a German chocolate cake.

BTW, are push presents really a thing?  I had never heard of them before, but I've read about them on some pregnancy blogs.  I'm kind of in awe of what some of these women are getting.

I totally believe in food related push presents. I'm not sure why but my cravings were intensified 100 times after delivery. The night after my son was born I NEEDED a cheesesteak.

    Edit: quote fail

I want my "push present" to be a trip to the casino bc it has a swim up bar. We went earlier this week for a couple of days and my husband camped out at the swim up bar. Not pregnant me would have loved it. I shall demand a redo trip!

This is ridiculous and I am jealous of it.

You are a genius. Also, I love that you keep a jar of peanut butter in your desk. I feel like we'd get along.

  • I don't understand the big push presents either. I mean the baby has to come out whether you get a present for it or not.
Agreed 100%.  As pretty as a sparkly piece of jewelry is, I think I would have to kill BF if he spent the kind of dollars I've seen some women get for pushing out a baby.

I think the jewelry push presents are getting crazy. I'm all for edible push presents and more active help with diapers/night wakings/ parenting than a piece of jewelry. Ps - I wear almost no jewelry with a toddler
