Am I an idiot to stock up on diapers now?

Target has an amazing sale on diapers - buy 2 giant packs and get a free $15 gift card.  Am I a moron to stock up for new baby yet?  I know I can buy a bunch for my toddler but I just don't know how long he's going to be in the size he's in right now.  WWYD?

I was gonna say, if you're talking about Target, then dooo it!

You can always go in and swap them if necessary. I'd buy half for new baby and half for toddler. Maybe size 2s since they seem to be in that longer than 1s.

I wouldn't. You don't know what kind of diapers will fit this LO best. You could wind up with a bunch of diapers that gap around your baby's legs and leak whenever he/she poops.

Target literally runs those sales every other week. They only time I would buy things to stock up on is if you find clearance items. Target always has great baby clearance so I always check when I go in. Another great place to check is Walgreens and CVS. I used to manage a CVS back in SC and I remember marking a ton of diapers down to $2-5 a pack when they are discontinued.

I stocked up on size 1's and 2's and wipes (sensitive kind)for DD. I wouldn't recommend buying Newborn size. I had no issues with DD and i bought just about every brand possible from store brands to pampers. It was so nice to not have to think about running out and buying more for a few months. I would DEFINITELY make use of that Target deal!!!

Alright I got 2 - 2s, 2 - 3s, 1 - 4 (for toddler), and 1 - 5 (for toddler).  I got free shipping and $85 in gift cards.  We have the extra cash since we're living with in-laws while our house is being built, so why not, especially since they will exchange

Honestly I wouldn't. You don't know what diapers will fit baby best. My first daughter was super long and skinny and would leak out of pampers and only wore huggies. My second daughter was short & really chubby when she was born and if she wore huggies they would leak all up her back. Now she only wears huggies and leaks in pampers. Their bodies change so diff diapers will fit diff on them even as they grow. My diaper cake was made with Babies R Us brand diapers & I wasn't even able to use those diapers because my daugher leaked everytime she wore them. Also I wouldn't even recommend buying newborn diapers until baby is born. My daughter was 7lb 12oz and went straight into size 1 diapers.

I wouldn't.  MIL bought DD a TON of diapers.  The normal Pampers gave her a terrible rash.  Huggies leaked like crazy.  And you only find these things out after opening a box so your LO can wear them.  And she bought one box on promotion that was discontinued, so we couldn't return those either.  We ended up donating a TON of diapers because we couldn't return them.

Diapers I would not, but wipes wouldn't be a bad idea.
