Leaving LO with grandma tonight for the first time to go out for my birthday dinner. I've been bf'ing mostly and pumping here and there to get an occasional bottle. I have three bottles in the fridge so grandma and baby Blake should be fine LO is 4 weeks and 1 day.
But no way would I leave her with my ILs (my parents wouldn't even offer at this stage). We have had issues with them not respecting our parenting decisions, not following schedules, and not changing dirty diapers.
This! My in laws are horrible! They have a small dog that HATES kids. We have a ds that is almost 3. Last summer she had her dog running around our yard so we held ds. She told us to let him down to play with the dog. We said no because she'd bite him. So she picked up her dog and we let ds down. She let her dog down super fast knowing ds would try to pet her. Of course the dog tried to bite him. We freaked and told her she needed to leave. She said to just let him get bit. Needless to say she's never been alone with our ds. She actually hasn't even met our twin girls yet. She's been so horrible that we cut off communicating with her months ago.
I've left our twins with my DH several times to run to the grocery store. I love my kids, but having 3 under 3 all day at home myself gets hard. I need some me time. We left the twins with my parents at 2 weeks, because my c-section incision broke open and we had to go to the er. We've left them with my patents one other time to go grocery shopping. Other than that, they've been with me. Twins that are breastfed are hard to leave. They usually eat together, but sometimes get hungry on opposite schedules. I have to be able to leave where I'm at and come home soon to feed them.
That dog would have went missing. She wouldn't be allowed at my house period. I would have caught a whole charge fn with her.. [-(
I did it! We are vacationing on a small island so I made sure DD was fed and asleep then DH and I took a drive around for about an hour. I can't say I wasn't thinking about her the whole time but I survived

SO keeps wanting for us to go out just us and I keep saying yes until the actual time comes and I freak out and don't want to leave him.
