TTC after 35

Reintroduction. Living child and loss mentioned

Not quite TTC this month but will be the end of summer. I am starting to really track and have lots of questions.
Im Jennifer from NY. About to turn 37 next week. I have been married for 6 years and together we have a 4 1/2 year old son plus a dog.
I was here back in September/October. Got pregnant right away, so excited I even bought a big brother t shirt for my son. Had his name and July 2015 put on it. Then i found out it was "just" a chemical pregnancy and according to my doc wasn't a real pregnancy or m/c. Still hurt and more so right now since this would've been my due month (1 week after my b-day)

I was just getting over things and preparing to TTC again when I was in a bad accident. My car was totaled and we weren't sure if I would need surgeries so TTC had to be postponed. Also thanks to the accident I had to use FMLA so because of that I had to wait because you need to be working a full year before you can use FMLA again.
So here I am. Lots of questions and praying my son can be a big brother.

  • Welcome.  I'm so sorry for your loss. A chemical pregnancy IS a loss and for your doc to say that to you shows a lack of empathy.  I'm so sorry for your pain.

  • I'm so sorry you were in an accident!

And I had a false BFP last month due to leftover hcg from a miscarriage I had 2 months earlier. That was definitely not even slightly a pregnancy, but it still hurt. Getting wonderful news and having it dashed is tough.

    Welcome, and good luck TTC.

  • Welcome.  I'm so sorry for your loss, and for the accident.  You've been through a lot and for a doctor to tell you that your loss wasn't "real" is terrible.  Good luck as you move forward.

  • Welcome & Good Luck! Im sorry your Dr was so insensitive about the CPs. I've had a couple myself and its definitely a big deal for the person going through it. Also so sorry to hear about your accident. Here is hoping all the bad stuff that will happen to you this year has already happened ;)  Big Hugs!
