I'm convinced my LO doesn't have any! She seems to go from perfectly fine to overtired in a matter of seconds. Anyone else experience this? Am I missing something??
yes!!! No eye rubbing or anything!! I'm not even sure what overtired looks like! Only clue that he's overtired I guess is that he will only fall asleep in my arms.
How old? I felt the same until the last week or so. He's almost 10 weeks. When he yawns the first time, I put him to bed. He just started rubbing his eyes in the last few days. I feel like I spend my day putting him to bed and getting him up.
She'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. I try to keep her on a 3 hour eat, play, sleep schedule as best I can, but this girl! I've been having a hard time getting her to nap. No sleep cues so I try to put her down around 45 mins-an hour after she wakes. She'll either lie there wide awake or cry because she's overtired :-/
My LO has cues but they don't usually seem to indicate much. As soon as she yawns I try to put her down but she refuses. Feeling like I should have it more together by this point!
Mine is the same way. Having a hard time with this whole "put them down drowsy but awake" thing. Uhh...when I do that she either lies there wide awake and becomes wayyy overtired or just starts crying which turns into screaming. I feel like I should have it more together too! (
I'm on kid #3 and have only now figured out drowsy but awake (only bc this baby is easy breezy and won't nurse, bottles are easier to work with as far as not falling asleep eating, imo). I had no idea what sleep cues to look for the first time around, or rather how to spot them.
Also, "they" say that by the time they are yawning and rubbing eyes you've missed the perfect moment.
Now why don't they offer a class on baby mind reading?!?
My LO seems to yawn constantly so that's never been a good indicator. I guess I just need to go more off of wake times to try and put her down before she becomes overtired.

So basically you have to be a baby mind reader

Overtired is when he's bobbing on my boob. Then I shoosh him and he's out...until I put him down.
