Is anybody on here using phenergan/promethazine for nausea? My doctor finally prescribed me something but when I picked it up the pharmacist told me it's category C for pregnancy. I called my doctor back and she says it's the one they prescribe to everybody there and she wouldn't do it if there was a problem with it. I'm not sure I feel comfortable with taking something in C but I have to wait til tomorrow to get a new prescription for something else and I can barely open my fridge without the smells sending me to the bathroom. What would you guys do?

I wouldn't be comfortable taking a class C. I was taking half a unisom twice a day with a B6 and it helped tremendously. This was suggested by my doctor and are both class A. If you want some relief maybe give your doc a call and see f they recommend trying that?

I take ondansetron every day, and that's really helped me. I've been told it's very safe and know a lot of other women who have taken it and have healthy bubs.

I think it's called Zofran in America? I'm not sure.

Ziclegis is the same thing as the unisom/b6 combo and is cat. A...see if your dr is willing to prescribe it. Works like a dream for me...my dr gave me 2 weeks free samples and a coupon to make sure I didn't pay more than a $30...

Ask them about diclegis.. I believe it's category A and it did wonders for my all day sickness. Plus you don't need a 4 hour nap after you take it. It was important to me that I be able to function on what I took.

I was prescribed phenergan and stopped taking it just as soon as I started, despite the nausea. It completely knocked me on my butt. Like so tired I couldn't function. Even a quarter of a pill made me sleep for 8 hours. It was awful! I've been taking half a unisom and a B6 before bed. 14w1d today. I was feeling better but these last two days have been a nightmare, hoping to feel better soon

Phenergan didn't help me even a little bit. I've been on zofran for 5 weeks and ms is gone so glad doctor gave it to me life saver.

I took Phenergan with my first pregnancy, but only a quarter of a pill because it made me sleepy for days if I took a whole pill. I've heard bad things about zofran so I never took it.

I'm currently on Phenergan, I can't even hope to keep food down without it. I was losing weight and had to have IV fluids. A cat C does not automatically mean it will harm your baby, Tylenol is cat C. Your doc would not give you something she believed harmful.

I'm on promethazine (zofran). Diclegis wasn't even touching my morning sickness- I was still throwing up multiple times a day. It does make me tired, but it's better than puking.

Thank you! I know my doctor says it's safe but with all the stuff out there I hate taking stuff. I've been med free except tylenol and I'm really starting to get depressed that this is going to last my entire pregnancy (14+1 and no slowing down). I have an appt today so I may ask her about the medicine again. Thank you guys!

Try the diclegis. I am on a zofran pump for hyperemesis and if I don't take the diclegis too- it's a bad day. Oral zofran did not cut it. I was given phenergan suppositories when I couldn't stop vomiting, but all they do is give horrible intestinal cramps.
