ETA: TICKER ALERT
I am, by all means, still a Newbie to the TTC thread but thought that I may be able to share a few things I have learned the last few weeks. (Snark included only for entertainment purposes, not to offend.)
1. The 'Real World'
Treat The Bumb with the same etiquette that you would expect to uphold in the 'real world'. Would you announce to a football stadium of strangers that you are pregnant? Have you EVER heard of take your pee stick to work day? Yes, your doctor can really tell you that you are pregnant when you show him that tissue full of implantation blood....
2. Science is Power
The relevance of the answers you receive will directly correlate with the integrity of the questions you ask. EX: Questions involving: my boobs hurt, my cat keeps licking my belly, my husband smiled at me...I must be pregnant, cannot be answered with any degree of accuracy (other than your cat has an oral fixation problem). In contrast, there are many wonderful people here that know a lot about temping, charting and all things science related. (Feel free to google the definition of science.)
3. Snark is Love
At first you may be taken aback by the level of snark that you come across (truthfully I was). But overtime you will realize that this is a community of people that have built some pretty strong relationships. Just think about how snarky you and your BFF are with each other. If you lurk enough, you will save yourself from being the target of the snark.
4. We are all Human
If you happen to make a mistake, just apologize...genuinely. The following is NOT an example of sincerity: "I'm very sorry...but you should not have taken offense to the photograph of my chunky, yellow CM...It's just part of life."
5. Baby Acronyms...YES Baby Slang Terms...NO
Keeping up with all the acronyms at first is like learning to code a program for a computer. Find a good list to refer to on google so you can follow along with all the convo. When you do decide to share, give encouragement etc. don't use any slang baby term that you may have picked up from other websites. More than likely it can be taken as hurtful or offensive (the most commonly used one...baby dust). Just stick to the common English Language and you should be safe: Good Luck/Best Wishes is a great place to start).
6. There are ~7.1 Billion People on this Planet
What makes you think you are the ONLY one that has EVER asked that ONE question?? Search google and the bump and you will find hundreds of answers that fit your question. With that said, we are here to support each other so don't feel like your voice doesn't matter. Give a little love and you will get some back.
7. Gif-ing is Addicting

8. I probably know nothing!
I repeat, I am a newbie. So please, please regulars correct me if I got anything wrong. Also please add your fantastic advise/snark/gif's below.
