Emma is the only name on this list I can get behind... Jade and Piper aren't my style, Ellie and Lainey should be nicknames for a longer name, Aliyah is misspelled, and Kenra is a hair product company and not a name.
Not a fan really of any names except Piper but prefer Lane over Layne. Jade gets some love around here but it's always been a "stripper" name to me. (No offense to anyone who loves the name). I would add Paige and Mallory.
Piper, Emma, and Jade are okay. Ellie and Lainey are nicknames, and not cute ones at that. Aliyah reminds me too much of the tragic singer, and Kenra is not a name.
Also not a fan of any of them, really. Emma is the nicest choice but so popular that I'm not sure I'd go with that unless you are absolutely sold on it (which you don't seem to be).
Piper is bad. It's not feminine. It's too trendy (will time stamp this generation for sure). It doesn't age well (sorry, I can't see a 40 yr old Piper). It has no history other than being an occupational surname... Just cross it off your list, you can do better.
Jade is not my style but if I were to use it I would pair it with a more feminine middle name... like Elizabeth or Penelope. Allison is masculine.
Kenra is not a name. Like previously mentioned... it's a hair care product, it would be like naming your kid Nexxus. No. If, however, you actually meant Kendra then I could get behind that even though it's not really my style. But, again, I'd pair it with a more feminine name like Sue or Jane. Blake is masculine.
Aliyah also reminds me of the tragic R&B singer. It's not my style and even though it actually is a legit name... it sounds made up. You can do better.
Ellie is an overused nickname. It's trendy right now, really trendy. If you absolutely love it then chose a formal name like Eleanor, Elizabeth, Elaine, Elena, Elsa, etc. and use Ellie as her nickname.
Lainey is not my style either. And you seem unsure about it.... scratch it. You can do better.
If Kenra was supposed to be Kendra then that's probably what I would choose. I like Emma, it's just sooo popular. Piper I don't mind, but it's a little trendy. Just meh with Ellie and Lainey, they're ok though but more nicknames than full name. Not a fan of Jade (makes me think stripper) or Aaliyah.
I like Jade as a middle name but not as a first name. Allison Jade would be nice. I don't like Piper, Ellie and Aliyah and I don't even know what Kenra is. Emma is pretty but way overused and Lainey is just okay to me. Honestly, I would start over.
Thanks for all your input ladies! We are obviously having a hard time finding a name..
Our favorite lately has been Aliyah and I have seen about 10 different ways to spell it. (And I honestly had never heard of the R&B singer, so that doesn't really play any part of us naming our little girl that) if we decide on it I really don't know which way to spell it. Aaliyah almost seems a little much
I met a girl named Kenra and loved her name! It might have helped that she was a fun easy going person.
Re: Help! I still have quite the list for a girl name!!
Now, I would totally vote for Kendra instead!
I also suggest Elaine if you like Lainey and Elena if you like Ellie as nicknames...
Jade gets some love around here but it's always been a "stripper" name to me. (No offense to anyone who loves the name).
I would add Paige and Mallory.
TTC since September 2012

Aliyah is spelled wrong. Aaliyah is fine but NMS.
Ellie is a NN. I like Eleanor.
Emma is nice but very popular.
Lainey is a NN and not a very good one.
