Formula mama's

Re: Formula mama's

  • We tried a few days ago, she mostly just chewed on the nipple. The biggest issue is that she's way too lazy to pick up the cup high enough to get formula out of it!

  • Lo loves his sippy. We don't use anything fancy just a nuby cup. The nipple is huge and he did chew it at first but after he figured it out he went nuts.
  • Joining y'all with formula for the first time. She didn't gain any weight between 4 and 6 months so we're supplementing while I begin to wean her off bmilk. All I've noticed so far is more spit up. Im sure I'll have questions down the road.

Hey all! I did a search for this and didn't see anything, so sorry if I am asking a question that has already been answered.

My ped told me to have LO drink a little formula from a sippy cup at meals so that he gets used to the idea of drinking milk with meals. He's 6 mos old. Anyone else do this yet? We've only done it a couple days and he sucks at it, haha, and basically just dumps it on his tray and throws the cup at me. Anyone have tips/tricks/sippy cups they used for transition?

we bought the tommee tippee transitional one but haven't used it yet
  • We just started. She's too lazy to lift it high enough most of the time but she's starting to get the hang of it! She did spit up the water though, not sure if that's normal.
  • We've been using training sippy cups with water for about 2 months now. The cup nipples are rubbery like a bottle nipple and he got the hang of it after a couple of weeks and now loves water!
  • Thanks for all the input. Got a trainer sippy instead of the other one and he put the nipple in his mouth and made a face, then refused to let it enter his mouth again, which he's never done! At one point he threw it down and then put his hands out to the side. The whole thing was very " Drops the mike!" Lol. Guess I'll keep trying!
  • Are any of your kids on soy based formula? Since mine has recelntly refused to eat her bottles (mostly the formula bottles but sometimes the bmilk too) I'm beginning to look into changing her formula out. Just unsure what the underlying issue is right now (cross posted with the feeding January thread). New to formula so still learning
