Hello everyone, I had a pretty relaxing weekend.  The weather didn't cooperate well enough for us to celebrate July 4th with a barbecue, etc, so DH and I just visited my parents and relaxed while they talked our heads off.   Sometimes doing nothing is the best thing ever.

As far as 'getting healthy' for TTC, somehow my efforts to lose weight have really started kicking in.   I haven't really done much different except cutting down a bit on my salt intake.   I was getting pretty nervous about not seeing results and was planning to make an appt to my GP to re-chck my thyroid.

QOTW:  I am an introvert.   My personality type is INTJ, which is an intuitive introvert.   I'm not shy though... but talking to strangers definitely drains me.   I'm one of those people who don't mind getting 'stuck' with super chatty people so that I don't have to do much to keep up my end of the conversation.

  • @GoldenKeys how cool that you're an INTJ - that's my type too. I'm a bit borderline between INTJ and INTP though. So, I'm also an introvert, don't crave being the centre of attention, and really value my alone time.

Nothing much new this week. 2ww for clomid round two...for some reason I don't feel too optimistic about this cycle but who knows!
  • I'm back from Italy! And managed to gain re-gain the weight I had lost...thanks for a crazy amount of walking and stair climbing (exactly 451 stairs from our apartment to the centre of Amalfi). It's done us good to spend time together, do fun things and relax.

A little bummed tonight because I was supposed to have my pre-op today, but my RE's mom had an emergency and the doc didn't go into work today...and rescheduled my appointment for Saturday afternoon when my surgery is Sunday afternoon (he works crazy hours, don't ask..). All in all though, I learned that I'm not just getting a hysteroscopy, but a transvaginal endoscopy, which also includes a laparoscopy done transvaginally. Quick recovery time and very advanced surgery. Can't wait for it to be done.

I find it interesting to talk personality tests...as a psychologist, I sort of know my way through them and don't know that any results would be accurate

graphicgranite   Heeey I've never met a fellow INTJ before!  My entire family and most of my friends are almost completely opposite from me.  Good luck on your Clomid cycle!

@KedShrink Welcome back!  Feel free to post fabulous pics of your trip. :-)   BTW... that definitely sounds like advanced surgery!  You're the first person I've met that is getting a transvaginal endoscopy, so I'm curious about it.   Good luck with your surgery and I hope that you get a rock solid diagnosis and an effective treatment plan.

  • @GoldenKeys : not sure that I want to be that special
  • The app is being weird with my reply. The pic is the view from the bedroom of the apartment we rented in Amalfi.

My 'not wanting to feel special comment' was about the surgery. I guess this whole thing is making me feel very different from others. I read that 92% of couple will conceive within the first 2 yrs of trying. After that, only about 50% will ever conceive. So I'm hoping this fancy surgery does put me in the half that does get treatment. I'm happy my RE is so dedicated to finding the true cause of IF rather than just labelling as unexplained. Here's the link to the page on their website that explains the surgery and its benefits, for those who may be interested: https://www.astrafertility.com/endoscopic_surgery.html

  • Hi ladies -
Still sitting here waiting for AF to arrive to start my second round of IVF, of course when I want it to come on time it's being stubborn lol. I am sure my cycle is all messed up from May's IVF round.  So we sit here in a holding pattern.

I'm an extrovert, I had one of those tests done before but I totally don't remember what the outcome was.

@kidshrink your vacation sounded wonderful and Amalfi is such a beautiful town! Glad you enjoyed yourself and good luck with your surgery!

I too am sitting here waiting for CD1 to start an IVF round. Had a mock transfer today because my new RE likes to have a visual before he goes in. Now just waiting, waiting. We did estrogen priming with no provera shot after, so it could be tomorrow. Could be next week. Who knows?

@kidshrink - so jelly. amalfi is amazing. so, so jelly.

@cupcakegal930 - this may be the only time in my life i've been like, i'd like my period to start.

I've never taken meyers briggs, but whatever the most extrovert category is, that's me :)

  • Im late on answering this but.... I have some decent news this week. DH completed another SA after 2.5 months of acupuncture and all of his numbers improved including the Morph which is now "normal". We cheated a little and tested before it was recommended but this was definitely a step in the right direction.

Never took a personality test but Im probably the weirdest mix between both personality types.

@kidshrink your vacay looks like it was wonderful.

@jnissa and @cupcakegal930 good luck on your IVF attempts

@goldenkeys that is awesome to hear about the weight loss it proves that you were working hard for a reason. I am not losing anything right now I have to get back on track.

    Have a wonderful day ladies!
  • @KidShrink your vacation looks amazing. I'm sure it was very relaxing. So jealous!

@J_k4ever05 that's awesome about your DH SA. Did he like acupuncture? I've been doing it for a month now and love it.

@jnissa and @Cupcakegal930 best of luck with your IVF. FX for you both.

QOTW: I've never done a personality test but I'm sure I would be a mix as well.

This week has been very exciting. I have had doctors appointments all week checking my follicle size. My ER will probably be Friday or Saturday. They are also thinking of doing a fresh transfer instead of a frozen. I have 5 follicles. 1 on the ride measuring 17 and 4 on the left measuring 15,16,16,15. They want to get those to about 17 or 18 for the ER. Super exciting and anxious. Has anyone gone through IVF and have any advise for me?
    Kristy
  • @kristylang he thinks its ok. Im sure he would rather be doing something else. They use electrical pulses with him and he states they can be uncomfortable sometimes. I am going to start going soon I think. I tried it a couple of times and it was relaxing but I wasnt really confident that the acupuncturist was any good. Im switching to DH acupuncturist. Let me know how it goes with your acupuncture.
  • CD 28 today, 12-13 dpo at present.
Testing since CD 26 and BFN as far...
Had an appointment scheduled with my FS today, but had to have it rescheduled till July 28th eeekkk! so far away, but had no choice work couldn't spare me, and it would not have been nice of me to leave the new girl alone on her 1st day. Even though my appointment is important I couldn't do that.
Been keeping busy with work (orientating a new girl to my department), housework, and giving lots of love to my 2 pooches.
Gonna keep testing till AF comes or BFP - hoping for BFP of course.
Keep you posted. FX for everyone else still also waiting for their BFPs as well. Good luck to all!
