Pregnant after 35

2nd ultrasound after somewhat disappointing results

I'm going for my 2nd ultrasound tomorrow morning. I'll be 7w3d. Last week, at 6w3d my RE saw what he thought was a possible gestational sac. I had a miscarriage in February 2015 so I'm still a bit raw. I'm hoping it was too soon to see anything. I have a tilted uterus and have read online that could prohibit the line of sight with a vaginal ultrasound instrument. So basically I'm grasping at any and every straw.

Any of you ladies had experience with this? Any words of wisdom? I'm trying not to spin out here.

Re: 2nd ultrasound after somewhat disappointing results

  • My doctor won't schedule ultrasounds until after six weeks because he doesn't expect to see anything before then. Praying for speedy development and a great ultrasound for you tomorrow!
  • Six weeks is really the grey area.  My OB was reluctant to give me on during that time because it can be hit or miss during that week. I have my FX you have great results this coming week.

  • Six weeks is too early to tell anything. My 6 week 3 day Ultrasound was ridiculous because it measured Crown Rump Length of the fetal pole as over 5mm but no heartbeat. That sure was a rough 10 days waiting for the followup. But the next US showed a different date and a heartbeat. I am sorry you have to go through the wait and worry. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
