3rd Trimester

GD and induction?

Hi ladies! Hope this final stretch is treating everyone good! I need some advice... I have diet controlled GD maybe four high numbers a week and I have been told by two labor class teachers and two of my drs that it's pretty standard to induce at 39 weeks. At my last appt I had a different dr and she told me it's not totally necessary and she may let me go to fourty weeks because my body may be more ready. With the risks of placenta deteriorating and stillbirth in that last week I really don't want to risk it... I've come so far and it took us two years and two surgeries to even get pregnant. She said if I insisted though she would induce at 39... Which I'm leaning toward bc my other dr told me no matter what don't let them let you go a day past 39 weeks. I trust all of my drs but them having different opinions confuses me... My baby is in the 85th percentile as well... What should I do?

I was also diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks and its controlled with diet and exercise. My doctor said probability of induction between 37-38...due to the possibly of baby being unusually large because of the GD (which would make for a difficult vaginal delivery) the further along I get....I am 33 weeks now, and he has been measuring normal thus far. Is it possible that all your physicians have a meeting together and get on the same page as to what is the best plan of action is for you and baby? Definitely voice your concerns...my doctor stresses her main goal is a healthy mom and a healthy baby!!!!
