Help wanted! My husband and i are torn between two names. The first is Leif, pronounced Layf or Leaf. We like this one as we're both into sailing, such as Leif Erickson, and I'm half Scandinavian.

The other is Dimitri, as my husband is Russian. The nickname is Dima which i think is cute.

What do you guys think?

Dimitri is one of my all time favorites. I LOVE LOVE it. It is so strong and masculine to me.

Dimitri is a winner for me. I feel like although it's not a name with an English origin, it is a name that most people can pronounce. Plus as PP said it is very masculine.
With Leif he'll be more likely to need to tell people about pronunciation.

I had a student with the name Leif. She was a sweet girl but often had to explain how to say her name. She didn't seem to mind though.
