So tomorrow is all the twins' first 4th of July! How exciting. So how's everyone doing?
1. How old are your twins?
2. What was their birth weight? What do they weigh now?
3. How are feedings going? Do you feed them at the same time?
4. Anything else you'd like to share with the group?
5. What are your plans for the 4th?
Re: Twin check in 7/3
2. What was their birth weight? What do they weigh now? Baby A 5lbs11oz Baby B 6lbs7oz. Baby A 7lbs 2oz Baby B 7lbs 2oz but that was awhile go so he's probably like 8lbs
3. How are feedings going? Do you feed them at the same time? Formula Fed. Yes within 15-20 min of each other if I'm feeding them by myself.
4. Anything else you'd like to share with the group? Wish they would sleep longer at night! 3 hour stretches not totally bad, but wish it was 4! They are growing so fast.
5. What are your plans for the 4th?dress the boys up and then they are spending the night at my parents!
My girls are one month old today! How time flies!
2. What was their birth weight? What do they weigh now?
Makenzie was 6 pounds 13 ounces. Yesterday she weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces. Harper was 7 pounds 6 ounces. Yesterday she weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces.
3. How are feedings going? Do you feed them at the same time?
For the most part they are going really well. I'm breastfeed the girls at the same time usually. It's easier to keep then on the same schedule. With growth spurts though, sometimes they eat separately too. Sometimes they're super sleepy when they eat, so I just pump and bottle feed them. I've got a pretty good stash in the freezer already.
4. Anything else you'd like to share with the group? My poor Harper for some reason is constipated. They say breastmilk is easily digestible, so they're not sure what's causing it. Have to put her on meds to help her poop. Poor little girl is miserable from being plugged up. Also, my comment got deleted from the old post because of the update. For those with the twin z pillow, put a blanket over top of it. Then your twins won't sink in, but it still holds them in place.
5. What are your plans for the 4th?
We were hosting it at our house for my family. We live right on the parade route, so no need to go anywhere. Well my family decided to go on vacation over 6 hours away. I was not going to go on a 4 day vacation with 1 month old twins and an almost 3 year old. So my husband is grilling us his amazing BBQ ribs, we'll watch the parade and do fireworks that evening. Nothing major. We'll be together and that's what matters to me!
1. They're 3 weeks, almost 4. Time does fly!
2. They were born at 7.3 and 6 pounds. I should get them weighed this week. At 2 weeks they were just under their birth weight but I'd put money on them being way above now haha.
3. Feeding is good! They're formula fed so it's easy to do both at once of need be. We just sit them beside each other and they go to town!
4. They're going through a stage where they don't like being put down. They cry and scream until you pick them up and have started to really dislike the bassinet beside the bed. But I've got a toddler and there's 2 of them...they have to be put down sometime!! Anyone else having this issue? How do you handle it?
5. I'm Canadian
2. What was their birth weight? What do they weigh now? Charlie 4 lb 15 oz Maddie 5 lb 6oz. No idea on their weights now, they are starting to get chunky though
3. How are feedings going? Do you feed them at the same time? Formula fed. DH and I get up in the night to fees together. I'm jealous of you ladies that can feed at the same time, mine hace leaky mouths. We have tried different bottles and nipples too.
4. Anything else you'd like to share with the group? My babies have been constipated too! Doctor recommended prune juice and let me tell you they love it! Lol. They suck that ounce down so fast!
5. What are your plans for the 4th? Going to my mom's house for a cookout. I was afraid my babies would sleep terribly with all the fireworks going off all night, but I think they are actually intrigued by it!
2. Birth weight and what they weigh now? Adalynn was born 5lbs14.5oz and Aria was born 4lbs7oz. At their appt 2 weeks ago Adalynn was 7lbs4oz and Aria was 6lbs4oz. I'm betting they've each hit the next pound marker!
3. How's feeding going? Do you feed at the same time? Feedings going better now. I'm pumping and we supplement, low supply
4. Anything else? My girls are lucky to pool at least once a day and sometimes that doesn't happen. I know this can be normal but it still freaks me out. I couldn't ask for better babies though! We normally do all breastmilk during the day and formula at night. Seems to work best for us since the formula can hold then over about 4hrs in between feelings as opposed to the breastmilk which is about 2.5-3hrs in between. Strategizing to make the most of sleepy time!
Also, giving props to all you other twin mommas! It's a tough job and It sounds like everyone's doing great!
2. Birth weight? Josie weighed 5 lbs 3 oz, Archie weighed 5 lbs 10 oz
Weight now? Last weigh in was a week and a half ago, but she was 5 lbs 13, he was 5 lbs 12. Next appt is on Friday.
3. Feeding? Exclusively pumping. All they eat is breast milk, and I'm pumping about 10 oz per day more than they eat. Josie eats FAST, and we have to slow her down by taking the bottle away while she eats. She spits up a lot once every other day if we forget and feed her too fast. Archie eats so slow, but doesn't spit up. One of them wakes up every 3 hours to eat, and we always wake the other to stay on schedule. DH and I do feedings together most of the time. We were using Medela bottles, but today we're trying Avent Classics to see if they work better.
4. Anything else? We're going on our first "family vacation" together tomorrow! One night at a resort an hour and a half away. We were getting stir crazy, and they are pretty easy right now, so we thought we'd go for it. (And we got a crazy Groupon rate). I hope it goes well--I love to travel so I'd like to get them used to going places
5. 4th of July? No plans except packing/preparing for tomorrow's "vacation."
