TTC after 35

Over 35 and TTC Introducing Myself

Hello! I'm 39 and TTC my 1st child. I'm 10 DPO and tested tonight and got a BFN. Maybe too early, but I was hoping! I guess I'll wait until 14 DPO before testing again to be sure. AF is 3 days late...
I'm nervous but excited for the process. I came on here for the camaraderie and support. Nice to meet you all!

  • Welcome @lubosgirl!  I hope your stay here is short! :)

May I ask - do you always have a 7 day luteal phase?  You mentioned you were 10 dpo and AF was 3 days late.  A 7 day LP is VERY short and if that's your usual, you should probably at least check in with your OB/GYN.

    Good luck!!

  • Yes, my period came a week and 1/2 early last month, so everything is a little off this month. Fertility Friend said I should've gotten AF 3 days ago, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I did an OPK and know I ovulated between 6/19-6/21. And did the BD on 6/19 and 6/21. Keeping fingers crossed! Thanks all!
  • Welcome!  Keep temping and you'll figure out your luteal phase length.  Your ovulation day can vary, but you should get AF a specific number of days after ovulation each month. That way you'll know if you are actually late, versus just ovulated later than usual.

    Good luck!

  • Hi and welcome! Hope tour stay here is short! Just one thing worth noting: OPKs do not confirm ovulation, only LH surge, so make sure you are temping. Good luck!
