Pregnancy Journal - Catching Up Question

I have a question.. And I know it's mild compared to big issues in life, along with my terrible heartburn and swollen feet!

I've procrastinated on starting my pregnancy journal - I'm now at week 33. I've had it - but this pregnancy was unexpected for my husband and I, and I'm not quite sure why I delayed in starting it. If I go through and backtrack week by week, do you think it takes away from the whole idea? I'm still pregnant at least. There's so much pressure between social media and sites like Pinterest to be so creative. I work full time, we just moved, and things have been crazy! Still, I know it would've only taken me like 5 min a week to do.

Re: Pregnancy Journal - Catching Up Question

  • I got behind on mine, too. I'm planning to backtrack and catch it up as well as I can remember (weeks start running together for me). I think it just wasn't my style. I also got a blank journal and my husband and I are writing letters to our little boy-no set schedule, just as the feeling comes to us ...much easier to keep up with and much more our style.

  • If you feel pressure to do something and "be creative" then don't worry about it. I don't understand the point of a pregnancy journal to begin with and you're a busy soon-to-be momma, there is no need for that pressure.

Don't feel bad. Not everyone is good at taking a break from our busy lives to write about ourselves and changes. I started it in the beginning, that lasted a week...now I will jot notes on my work calendar to refer back to when I get some time. Ie: Our baby has a name today, or felt him move for the first time on the outside, anticipation, etc... Even if its not every memory or every detail, combine some days and memories with belly pics and you'll feel satisfied. :)
