October 2015 Moms

Can't wait for this to be over!

Am I the only one who isn't enjoying my pregnancy? It's not just one thing either, like oh I hate the heartburn. It's everything! Weight gain, ligament pain, swelling etc..... I literally sit with a calendar counting down the day. I feel bad, like i should be glowing! I'm so excited to meet my baby but getting there is proving to be extremely tough!

Re: Can't wait for this to be over!

  • I feel the same, can't believe I have 17 weeks left and everyone keeps saying to me "it will only get worse" my legs are in agony, I feel like my shins are going to snap when I walk and my feet have started swelling this week, I've outgrown my company's maternity uniform already so had to order a new one 2 sizes up! Constantly tired. But I am so happy to be pregnant! But I can't wait for the next 17 weeks to be over. You aren't alone!
  • You know, for me some days are better than others.  I think it’s natural to feel that way.  Pregnancy is rough.  Just try to occupy your mind and stay busy.  The summer will fly by and soon you will be holding your little bundle of joy and all the pain will be worth it!

  • This reminds me of the movie "what to expect when your expecting", if you haven't seen it, you should totally watch it, hilarious!! Sorry mamas, We're almost there!!!
  • You are not alone I always look on this app see how much more I need it is hard with being pregnant it isn't like how most people or movies show it it is hard but I like to keep my self happy by saying all this comes with purpose and means I'm on tract. And will not last forever and at the end I get a little bundle of joy!:)
  • I felt this way with my first. I've definitely had a few moments this time where I can't believe that I still have so many weeks to go! Hang in there!!
  • I didn't enjoy my pregnancy with my son and I haven't really loved this one, either, but as difficult as this time is in the moment, I can tell you from experience it'll go by faster than it seems.

Sometimes I'm just like, can't this be over already? Is it October yet? But at the same time, I'm relishing having 14 or so more weeks to spend time as a mom on one, get everything in order I need to before my daughter's arrival, and enjoy getting more than 2 hours of sleep at a time. And the last thing I want is to have to deliver a preemie and not be able to take her home for months (my heart goes out to anyone who ends up having to go through this).

I can't blame anyone who's hating pregnancy, especially if you live somewhere humid like I do! But hang in there; it doesn't last forever!

  • I agree. I dislike this so much that I told my husband we are only having this kid and no more. Between the back pain, carpal tunnel, swollen hip ligaments (never knew that could happen), gestational diabetes, and not sleeping this has been no fun.
  • i have enjoyed my 2nd preg waaaayyy more than i did my first ...... i think with your first there are these expectations of what it "will feel like" and what you "will look like" and when it doesn't go that way it feels kind of disappointing.....lets just hang in there .....!!!!

  • Ugh I was just talking to my BFF yesterday about how I'm ready to not be pregnant. I just miss food so much. I'm tired of the heartburn and feeling nauseous all the time. The only thing I really enjoy are all the baby kicks.
  • With my first two pregnancy I was young and although I wasn't completely ready for them I enjoyed my pregnancy. No morning sickness, had tons of energy and everything went perfect during labor! This one however now that I'm "ready" has been rough!! All day sickness till 19 weeks, round two of poison ivy, bad sciatic never pain, pressure that started about 8 weeks ago and continues to get worse! I tell my SO all the time I don't feel connected to this baby. I can't wait till I deliver and I can just enjoy the baby!
  • I'm totally with you. My first pregnancy was a breeze compared to this one. I can't wait for the day this is over. The baby will make everything worth it but I am never doing this again.
  • I'm quite jealous of those who say they loved being pregnant. I have two coworkers who have volunteered to be surrogates for family members because their bodies handled it so well. I don't feel like it's horrible for me, but I don't love it! The swollen feet, heartburn, tired feeling, return of nausea, etc. On the upside, only one more week of the second trimester for me, so the end is in sight :)
  • I. Hate. Being. Pregnant. Ughhh. My first two were relatively easy and I still didn't enjoy them. This one has been rough. Morning sickness. Round ligament pain. Fatigue. Dizziness. HEARTBURN. Ughhhhhhh. And it's been a very difficult pregnancy from an emotional side too. I just hope things get better once baby is here.
  • I hate it, I love that we're going to have a beautiful baby at the end but crap I had to stop working this week due to fact my groin pain has gotton so bad, I worked in aged care so rolling pushing heavy weights weren't helping but now I sit here what am I going to do the next few months, I have never been type person sit and do nothing. Before I was pregnant I worked 6 days a week always busy loved it. Then I got pregnant extreme morning sickness all day to point I felt like I had major hangovers, ended up In hospital, then still sick most days and I'm 24 weeks this week, I hate the stetch marks the getting bigger, mind you I have a new found respect for pregnant women! And I'll never take my skinny body for granted ever again, I was never one to complain I was fat either, along with sickness I've had uti which was great fun, then a sinus infection I had to deal with and just let it go until it went away, that pain was like no other! This has been the longest pregnacy and its my first time, I miss feeling normal.
  • I've had my round ligament pain and back pain, but it hasn't been bad at all. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am pregnant. I am actually enjoying it, especially when he moves.
  • The good thing about pregnancy is that once you hold your baby, you kind of get amnesia about all the awful parts and actually want to do it again. Granted there are some people who know from the start they're one and done, but for many of us, it doesn't seem so bad when your heart is aching for another baby.

  • I hate complaining about it because it took me over 2 years and 3 miscarriages to get pregnant but damn it sucks. I am so ready for October.

I can remember nothing about the sleepless nights, or even the pain of labor. My husband gives me the crazy eyes when I say "It wasn't that bad." LOL

  • Hate it with the fire of 1000 suns. Least this time around I DON'T have the wicked heartburn like I did with my girls, which is really surprising. Guess all those probiotics helped heal the gut!!!

  • The only good thing about being pregnant is that when is over you have a beautiful baby.everything else is hard, uncomfortable, painful and down right miserable! Except for baby kicks. Those make my mind at ease but my body hurt like hell!
  • Not to complain but I'm ready for him to come out. This has been my most challenging pregnancy. The vomiting, acid reflux, acne all over, pain everywhere ... the list goes on. Even his movement is painful most times. I love to feel him move it brings me mental comfort but physical pain. I'll be happy when this is over and I pray I she'd all this baby weight and some! .
  • lurker from N15 here, thank you for posting this, it made me feel so much better!! This is my first, and I feel so discouraged sometimes because I am not enjoying this at all! Then I feel guilty because all the other pregnant women I know in real life talk about how great it is to be pregnant...

My pregnancy hasn't been to bad so far, so I shouldn't complain. I totally feel like I am grounded or something though. I don't like not being able to do so much psychically. It is so frustrating to me to have to be so careful all of the time. Plus, just being slower and tired all the time makes me feel like such a weakling. Also, I feel more vulnerable walking around with this precious cargo and it makes me worry more. I guess I should get use to the worrying part though
