I'm 24 weeks with twin boys, today I had my 24 week scan (i have an ultrasound every 2 weeks). I was told my cervix has shortened from 37 mm at 22 weeks to 27mm this week.
The doctor said if it gets below 25mm at my 26 week scan they will have to start my on progesterone pessaries. And I need to take it very easy and watch for early signs of labour.
Has anyone else had this happen? I'm so scared that I will go in to labour very early.
Re: Cervix shortening
Heart beats get monitored twice daily, contractions three times, and I've done the progesterone nightly. I get an ultrasound weekly to see if the bedrest/progesterone is doing anything. Immediately after the one last week, I was told there was no change, but my fave nurse was reading the notes to me and said they had put down that I was now at 8mm after they really looked at the scan. Not a whole hell of a lot, but better than less. Either way, I've been told to expect to be here at least to 32-34 weeks, unless I deliver sooner. I don't think they have much hope of my situation getting better like PP.
Let me known if you have any questions!
