I see a lot of posts about family and friends getting a booster. My team has said nothing of this to me, just that I needed one during pregnancy to provide the baby with immunity. I'm curious to understand more about this.
@aschoppers I haven't heard anything about us having to get one personally during pregnancy but everyone in my family has been vaccinated with either the whooping cough vaccine or the tdap. Its to help prevent whopping cough so no one gets it and gives it to baby. I personally have to have a tdap because I work in a hospital and we are required to have one, but I haven't heard anything about getting one while pregnant. I hope that helps!!
My ob didn't say anything either so I asked about it last week. She did recommend that I get one to pass immunity on to the baby and then suggested that DH get one as well. She said if grandparents, etc want to get it that's great but that mainly she recommends the baby's parents get it.
