MISERABLE!

My house is flea infested!!! The things are literally everywhere and I'm covered in bites new and old. I've tried everything the past month and they just won't die. I swear, I'm getting to the point I'd rather sleep in my car than have to deal with pregnancy pains and inflamed bites... Help

Re: MISERABLE!

  • Omg I know how you feel ! I had a cat who was an indoor cat has all shots even paid for flea prevention and out of nowhere within days fleas everywhere. You what works and I swear by it...Raid Flea Killer Plus Carpet and Room Spray and Flea Killer. I use to wake up and they would be all over my socks. Took me about a week or less to get rid of them. It says it's safe to use on pets ( one of them).

  • CapStar for your pet from the vet helps a lot! You'll need a carpet and furnture killer from the pet store. Vacuum a lot. Wipe down all the surfaces. Wash all bedding. You have to kill every stage of the flea else they can come back.
  • Longtime lurker here jumping in because I feel your pain! I had a flea infestation when I wasn't pregnant and couldn't handle it. But, I also have a great solution that is totally pregnancy safe. Diatomaceous Earth is a non-toxic option that kills insects through a physical not chemical process. The short story is that it's basically ground silica which at a microscopic level is very sharp - it actually cuts the insects and then they dry out and die (gruesome if you think about it, but this is war!). It's totally safe for pets and humans. I bought a 5 pound bag at Lowes and sprinkled it all over the house - it's a white powder so think flour sifter or something similar - get every square inch of carpet/floor space, and anything you can't cover with the dust, run through the wash.

You may have to re-treat: since it works when they crawl through it, I'm not sure how effective it would be on eggs, but if you leave it, as soon as they hatch, they're toast. Here's a great article I found if you want more detail. https://www.richsoil.com/diatomaceous-earth.jsp
