Breech Baby has Flipped at 38.4 weeks!

edited June 2015 in July 2015 Moms
My baby has been breech for many, many weeks.  I tried everything.  Chiro, moxa, inversion, pool, hot/cold, flashlight....I finally said screw it because it was making me CRAZY.  I have been planning a home birth this whole time and scheduling a c-section made me really, really sad.  I finally accepted it and was feeling better about whatever birth outcome I was going to have.  I had an appointment today to get an ultrasound to confirm that the baby was still in a breech position and to meet the OB who would be performing the c-section.  I went in to the ultrasound room and said, "I'm pretty sure the baby is still breech. Has been for weeks."  The tech held the thinger to my belly and said, "Well...I am pretty sure the baby is head down."  I couldn't believe it! I am so relieved.  I am currently 38 weeks, 4 days.  Just wanted to give any other breech mammas out there some hope for a flipped babe!

  • I should add, I think the baby may have turned about a week ago.  My midwife said today when I talked to her that she suspected it to be the case last Monday at 37.4.

  • This is great news!!!!  I am so happy for you!
  • Mine flipped too! At 37 weeks. I'm about to be 38. I hope these babies stay head down!
  • Is it bad that this is giving me lukewarm hope? It puts a little shimmer of it back for me.
  • @runswithscissors86: No!  It can still turn!  Don't give up hope!  I know it's tough to stay too positive though.  Make sure they give you an ultrasound before they make you have a c-section!
  • @Knottie99627423 I am having an ECV this week so hope is alive, just waning. Thanks for the words of encouragement though. They mean the world to me.
  • Awe well this gives me a glimmer of hope, baby girl has been breech at every ultrasound my entire pregnancy. I am 36 weeks and my OB is going to schedule me a c-section next week for 39weeks if this weeks ultrasound shows the baby hasn't flipped yet. Will cross my fingers and toes, but have already excepted it if it doesn't go my way. As long as baby is healthy.
  • Congratulations! My baby was also breech and we went in for an ultrasound at 36 weeks where I told the tech the exact same thing "I feel like he's still breech". Surprise surprise he was head down! I also think he had been that was for a little while I guess I just didn't feel it happen. So exciting!
