My random feeling. I posted yesterday somewhere about being upset about a friend pushing me to start pumping/bottle feeding so I can "get out more & get off the couch"... Ugh. LO is only 2 weeks old & will be in daycare from 6am-3pm (teacher here) in just 4 weeks *tears, too soon!!*
BUT today, a coworker I LOVE came by & was so affirming of my choices & how things were going. She reminded me how fleeting this time is & to enjoy it & use my mommy instincts. Having someone be so supportive is unbelievably comforting for a new mommy.
I really have no randoms...just so tired. And if one more person tells me to sleep when the baby sleeps I'm going to punch them in the face. I can't always sleep when he sleeps and usually during the day by the time I'm falling asleep he's waking up for another feeding.
So much this. The ped asked me at DS visit today "and are you getting enough rest? Poor rest on moms part can affect milk too". Dude. Of course, yeah! I sleep like, all day, yo. (Sarcasm font heavily needed here)
So today is my due date, and I told my DH that we need to go to Target today and why. He seemed to think it was ridiculous for some reason. Don't care. Target is a valid labour induction technique. (Please note that going to Target requires crossing a border on my part as I live in Canada. Still doing it.)
Im a total workaholic, and I hate that about myself. Although im past my due date, im grateful in the fact that ive been working from home the last week which has given me the much needed separation to prepare for what lies ahead. I can't even fathom what this whole experience would have been like 2weeks ago...I (and my work) would have been a mess.

WOW! Now that there's FINALLY someone here that can answer all my questions about being a mom, I can give birth! Thank goodness she's been a mom since 10:10 this morning, because experience is everything!!!!

I'm starting to get the hang of being a mummy to 2. It's waaaay harder than I anticipated, but today was the first day that I had both kids in bed before 9:30 and I feel like super mom! Haha
getting real sick of the bombardment of "no baby yet?" "why isnt baby here yet?" type things when i go to the grocery store. like "yes baby is here, i delivered in the bathtub yesterday andi left them at home because i really wanted this jar of bread yeast that im holding.." no please shut up and leave me alone.
A while back someone posted a comment about an app that lets you see the world as if you were looking thru baby's eyes. Anybody remember what that was called? Just curious to play with that a little
Funny story for yall. So day 4 and LO still hadn't had his first non-meconium poop due to feeding issues. He's laying down in the pack and play and I go to pick him up and his entire back and legs/ the sheet is COVERED in poop. I'm ecstatic because poop means less bilirubin and a healthy babe. So I yell for Fi, who is downstairs answering the door because the lactation consultant just arrived for our appointment. The baby is screaming and combine that with me yelling it sets my high anxiety dog off into a fit. He jumps up, bounces off a nearby chair, and lands in the pnp. With all 4 paws in shit. I yell at him, causing him to jump back out of the pnp onto the rocking chair then the rug, leaving shitty paw prints as he goes. The lactation consultant and fi walk in to see me dangling a poopy baby yelling at a poopy dog. Luckily the lc was an angel and helped fi wash baby while I washed puppy. Ah the joys.

@serenamarr I am laughing so hard right now (and simultaneously really sorry for laughing at your stressful sitch). So glad for your poop and that people were there to help you clean up the mess!
Well, not much info but notices were already made so I should be ok. But a good friend was let go. I'm going to call my manager tomorrow to get the official scoop. Unfortunately, that probably means no merit raise this year.
I lost 12# of water retention in four days. I'm not bragging, because lord knows I have a longgggg way to go in terms of weight loss. It just validated how swollen I really was.

Random question for @mellymar or any other animal aficionado. My pup is due for his topical flea and tick preventative, but I'm paranoid to put it on him and have him jump on the couch or bed and leave traces of it to later be picked up by LO. We also pet him all the time obviously. I feel like it's inevitable that the pesticide will reach lo. Am I being ridiculous here? That stuff is nasty!
1. the show Call the Midwife is awesome. I'm so glad I didn't watch it while pregnant, but it's such a good PP show
2. my brother and SIL arrive this weekend, staying in our one bedroom apartment for a week. my bro is the absolute best but SIL is... challenging. Poor DH is practically sick with worry about how this is going to go. My family is not one that would ever make you stay in a hotel, despite DH's pleas. I feel terrible and am hoping for the best.
4. LO makes the sweetest faces you could imagine when he pulls off the boob or stretches when he's sleeping. he has this pouty cry thing going with his little mouth and big cheeks that just rips my heart out. Oh, how I love this little boy!
5. LO seems super serious. Very observant and thoughtful, mostly in "calm alert" mode. I am hoping when he starts smiling he won't seem so serious. DH and I have been talking about how we really want to create a fun, joyful home for him.
