It absolutely is and I started out totally against spending $60 on a pillow. I broke my pelvis several years ago so once the ligaments started to stretch I was tossing and turning all night. I wrap the snoogle around me to support my back and put the curved end between my knees and sleep great now. I've also learned to fold it into a donut shape, put my tummy in the middle and voila! The secret to belly sleeping again!
I'm with @Krysta6 i bought the snoogle and I move way too much in my sleep and it stops me from making any type of turn. It actually makes my back hurt more in the morning because I'm stuck in one position.
I got a snoogle with my last pregnancy and haven't even pulled it out this time because I never really liked it. I'm just using a body pillow this time and I'm much happier.

I was the same as you and was interested in the snoogle but the price deterred me. When I saw body pillows were at Wal-Mart for $8 I figured I'd start with that and if that didn't work then move to the snoogle. So far so good! Only down side is moving it from side to side in the middle of the night so I start out with it in the middle so DH is used to it....it's easier moving it the outside of the bed than back to the inside!
I bought a cheap body pillow from Target. I think it was about $10. I absolutely love it. I debated buying a pregnancy pillow but I wanted to try something cheaper first. So far, the body pillow is working just fine!
I have been able to manage just using extra pillows. One either between or under my legs and one on my side! I am hoping I can make it the whole time without a pregnancy pillow... I love snuggling my husband too much
I started with just a normal pillow between my knees, then switched to a body pillow. While it is a little cumbersome and hubby jokes about getting smacked with it in the night, I find it has really helped.
Oh my gosh this is so different from the posts I read a couple months ago! If you search Snoogle on this board, I swear I'm not lyin' when I say that many women here love it...!
I really hated the snoogle. I think it's because I'm short. So I just use 4 pillows in the same way
@krysta6 I have this problem too! I am very short (5'1") and I didn't want to spend money on the snoogle. BUT, in a search I found out that they make a mini snoogle! It was $35 and fits my size perfectly! I'm very happy I purchased it
@danixbanani24 I saw the mini snoogle when I returned the regular one... I'm considering it... The only thing is I like a pillow to go under my belly so that it is supported but the snoogle was too bulky to do that? Do you have this problem or no?

@krysta6 The mini snoogle is not as bulky IMO and I have no trouble propping it under my belly for support! It is a bit stiff at first but I broke it in after a few nights. I put the "hooked' end between my legs and use a regular pillow for my head while tucking the "straighter" part of the snoogle under my belly as I lay on my side. Hope this makes sense!
I love the snoogle! It took me awhile to get the hang of it. Now I leave it with the long part along the outside of the bed and roll inside it during the night. When I get up in the morning I push the bottom bit off on the floor. There is no barrier between my and DH during the night that way. I should say I also use an additional two normal pillow under my head and hug a third pillow to my chest/under my belly. I hated having a separate pillow between my legs and along my back. I was constantly losing them and spent half the night rearranging pillows.

I didn't even think about turning it so I can use my own pillow under my head... hmm I may be ordering a mini off amazon! Thanks @danixbanani24
I got the BeautySleep body positioner a couple days ago and I have had the BEST sleep the last couple nights. It's memory foam so it's really comfortable. I got mine at Target because it was $66.50 with my 5% off and at bed bath and beyond it was $100
My back was hurting from sleeping and I kept waking up on my back even sleeping with tons of pillows and a body pillow behind my back... I needed something to support me and keep me on my side when I sleep hope you find one you like !!
I have a Boppy pregnancy body pillow, it was a hand me down from my mother. I believe they sell them at babies r us. It has three detachable parts. I just use the bottom half for between my knees, one pillow for my chest and belly, and two regular pillows under my head.
I have the snoogle & I love it! I resisted purchasing for a while and just used a regualr body pillow but it wasn't sturdy enough behind my back to give me the support I needed. And my back started hurting a lot. But with the snoogle, I can have it behind my back and between my knees. Then I either lay my head in the top curve with my upper back nicely supported or I sometimes I push it up and use my regular pillow (but then there is less support on my back). Usually throughout the night I will turn to face the pillow and cuddle up to it. No back support but it feels nice on my belly. It's nice to lay up against on my back to. I'm not totally flat on my back but I still try not to sleep this way....just lay like this when I wake up in the morning or for watching TV. It's cozy and supportive!
agree with the mixed reviews for the snoogle. i kinda wish i hadn't shelled out the money for it. for the record, i am short (5'2), so to adequately use the snoogle i have to basically wind it up between my legs creating like a G shape around myself. it is a pain when you want to turn over. my husband hates it because i rearrange it so many times in the middle of the night which requires rearranging all the blankets, too. i still use it sometimes but i also have a regular body pillow which is less difficult to maneuver in the middle of the night.
Wish I would of known about the snoogle and height. I dislike it as it hurts my back and neck. I'm 5'1 and I use 5 different pillows and it works like a charm. My dog loves the snoogle though.
I curl up a blanket between my legs, and a blanket under my back to support it should I try to roll onto it. Seems to be working and giving me more comfortable sleep than on my side. I usually hug a pillow, and also have a long generic body pillow to my side to keep the blanket in place. I sleep crazy. I really don't see the need to spend a crazy amount on a pillow, just try different things you already have.
I personally love my snoogle more than anything. I will probably never sleep without it again. I got it as a mother's day present and my hubby found it at Burlington coat factory for $40. For height reference, I'm 5'5". I feel like it fits me perfectly and I don't have trouble rolling around. My husband and I don't cuddle because I hate being touched at night and I get extremely hot; we also have a king size bed so there is plenty of room for a bulkier pillow (which I actually don't think the snoogle is that huge). I use one regular pillow under my head to prop me up a little more as well.
I used to try and sleep with a regular body pillow (prepregnancy) and it was never comfortable to me.
The Snoog and/or body pillow weren't cutting it for me. I was getting hip and shoulder pain and waking up every morning stiff and miserable. I'm a stomach sleeper, so this has been a difficult adjustment for me. I actually didn't get any relief till we bought a new mattress with a lot more cushion and support. The difference has been dramatic. I still use a pillow for a modified mountain-climber sleep position (the closest I can get to stomach sleep). It seems to be working for me
