hey guys. So I know that a slight form of insomnia is normal when your advancing in pregnancy. But it's starting to get out of control. Does anybody have any tips that can help me fall asleep? I can't keep staying up and listening to my husband snore all night.
My doctor recommended Unisom sleep tabs (not the gels). I take 1/2 a pill most nights. It helps me fall asleep and it's non-habit forming. When I expressed concern about taking sleeping pills, he said the drug (under various names) has been on the market since the '60s and is very safe. Good luck.

You can try magnesium and see if that helps. Natural Calm is a good product, though I prefer magnesium oil. Don't take magnesium supplements/pills - they don't work. If that doesn't help, I second Unisom sleep tabs.
Unisom did nothing for me so my doctor put me on Remeron with some relief of my insomnia. I was up until 5:30am yesterday morning for absolutely no reason, however. I know it's frustrating and I'm dreading it getting worse the farther along I get. The following is mostly pregnancy related; I've been struggling with insomnia for over 15 years and just thought I'd include some info on sleep hygiene since it's not something commonly discussed!
