I was taking a prenatal that had DHA included. But I had to stop taking it because it had too much iron for me. So I went back to taking my women's multi vitamin. But I feel like I should supplement with DHA or fish oil. But I don't know what to look for in the dosage?
I also second the Nordic Naturals DHA. I take two a day with my Nature Made Prenatal vitamin. I found buying them off Amazon is way cheaper than the Vitamin Shoppe.
I found that Nature Made and Nature's Bounty both make a prenatal vitamin that includes DHA in it. I was able to find one of them at CVS and the other at BJ's.

I've had a problem with iron as well, my midwife told me that now that I'm in the second trimester if I can't do the iron every day then I can alternate, so I've been taking gummies (without iron) one or two days in a row, and the multivitamin with DHA and iron the alternate days. Since they don't test my iron levels very often I'm hoping that's working, but I really don't want to develop anemia!
@dannie134, I have been doing something similar. I alternate every couple of days between the VitaFusion prenatal gummies and the Nature Made Prental vitamins which have a lot of iron. Also try to eat foods that are rich in iron (beans, spinach, raisins, meat, etc.).
@violetigerlily, they are very yummy! I actually look forward to the gummy vitamins. They do contain DHA and Omega 3s from fish oil, but the bottle states that they have been tested for mercury and PCBs. And my doctor recommended them, too.
Re: 24 weeks... Too late for Omega 3's?
