Is it possible to 'hear' movement on a fetal doppler?

This evening I pulled out my doppler and found the hb within the first few minutes. I think baby has moved up about 2 inches since last weekend! I was listening to the hb, holding the wand steady, and heard several loud sounds a few seconds apart. The heartbeat would get a tad weak between sounds, like the source was moving. Could this be movement being picked up? Anyone else hear these sounds?

  • Yup. How far along are you? It's easier to hear moving than to feel it, but it's still hard to catch early on.

  • Yup! It makes almost like a whooshing sound!

  • You probably did hear the moving then :) that's so exciting! When they start to kick really hard it'll sound like really loud popping and cracking.
  • I'm 13w and it's impossible for me to find the heartbeat but I hear her/him moving around swimming like freaking flipper
  • I've had to chase baby all around with my Doppler before, mostly at night than in the morning :)

Yes. At my last appointment they kept hearing baby move around but couldn't track the heart beat right away.
