Parenting after 35

How do you recharge?

When things are particularly crazy/hectic, how do you recharge?

For me:
An uninterrupted shower goes a long way
Just getting outside on the deck, or walking on the street, come rain or shine, works wonders

  • Long, hot bath. And naps. Love me some naps.

  • naps, and wine before naps.  in the morning, tea and a free-range egg on a bagel.

  • If I can get a drama free shower, that would be my first choice. I swear every time I get in the shower.. All three kids start crying. A nap is fantastic. Usually I only get to nap if DS is with DH and DD and myself and our littlest guy can nap by ourselves.

  • Naps would be great - if the little guy ever decided to nap during the day!  Taking a walk is more realistic for me, since the baby can come along, and just being outside in the fresh air and not sitting on the couch is very helpful for my sanity!

  • Coffee. And getting out of the house for a little while for a change of scenery and some fresh air. I can't usually nap because I just lay there and think of all the things I should be getting done.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
  • Nap would be fabulous but I can never time it so that both kids sleep at the same time so I'm always taking care of one, while the other sleeps. Boo!
Wine in the evening used to be my ritual but now my last pump of the day is at 9pm so I either chug it while pumping or skip altogether bc it makes me super thirsty all night and I wake up more to drink. Can't win no matter what.
  • Going anywhere, to do anything, that isn't work, daycare, or home. Love my job. Love my family. Daycare is great. But none are relaxing.
