  • @leighann1 haha I would have thought the same about vaccinations and vacations there's alot of posts for getting shots.
It sounds like alot of fun :) sadly with me it's been just relaxing at home all the time hopefully I can get a trip to the zoo I've been wanting to go to the zoo haha.
  • I have my 10 year high school reunion coming up in a fee weeks, but I'm not sure that counts as exciting!

I plan to make a couple of trips to the beach and relax. We're also remodeling our kitchen.
  • We are moving yay! (Hopefully out forever home)and going on a weekend mini vacation to the beach!
  • Camping with the family over the 4th, then I get to go to Denver for the Thirty-One National Conference next month! I'm excited for the road trip and girl time with my team. :) This is in place of a babymoon unfortunately, but that same weekend my SO will be at a bachelor party up north for his buddy, so it works out. I'm just excited to get out of town, really :)

I LOVE reading of all the fun vacations and babymoons I wouldn't even be able to afford to dream of right now. They make me excited for planning family vacations down the road.
  • 4 day vacation on the intracoastal near st pete with nana there to babysit. So first date night in forever! I can't wait for the 4th of July! !!
  • @dparker721 that does count as exciting I think seeing everyone that used to be in school with you and see where they are now :) the beach sounds really nice right about now nice breeze food food and foood:)

@Krysta6 wow it does sound busy but fun!! How is that gonna go the bridal shower so close to month of having baby and all and moving you must be super momma haha:)
  • Going camping up the beautiful Sequoia forest the 2nd week of July!! I'm off from work also for 8 days which I'm super excited about.
  • @vamomtobe yes! So happy today! Finally! !
  • Going home to Chicago at the end of July for a long weekend with my best friend from college. So excited!! Baby shower at work the following weekend.
  • I am just soaking up all the normal summer experiences a toddler has as I am home with DD most of the summer! I have been so distracted that the pregnancy stuff hasn't bothered me as much as it did with DD. I am trying not to wish the weeks away because that'd mean missing out on all of these awesome little moments with DD while she's still our one and only :)

I have a staycation with my immediate family and their spouses coming up. I get to see my brother 2-3 times a year, so it's a really big deal for me. Plus, my daughter will get to see and play with her only cousin, and that makes my heart happy! We're doing a "staycation" for my parents, but really all of the kids are headed back to our childhood home for the week. It'll be a mad house and I couldn't be more excited!

  • We are moving home! I am soooo excited to be surrounded by family again. Well by family I mean my husband's family which in all honesty I sometimes like more than my own family, so much less drama.

My sister in law got married in the Bahamas and we weren't able to go but she's having a reception in August and I can't wait to celebrate with everyone.
  • This is awesome I love reading what everyone has planned it makes me excited for you all :) and also gives me ideas on what I can do too haha for example I'm looking forward to tell my husband to take me to the beach <:-P
  • We're heading to michigan next week for the 4th. My husband is from there so it will be good to see friends. Then we will be going to Nashville for a work trip sometime next month. Just for a few days. Hope to get at least one more weekend at the beach this summer as well!

  • We live at the beach so summer for us is everyone coming to our house for their vacations. I love it! We also go into boston more regularly and do touristy things with the kids like fanneil hall, the freedom trail, etc.

@vamomtobe yes! I keep welling up just thinking about it. What a great day!
  • A week from today DH and I are headed back home to St. Louis! For 12 days to celebrate the 4th of July, spend much needed time with family, and then finish off the trip with my baby shower. Road tripping it back home with baby gear and my MIL should make for an interesting 12 hour ride... :D
  • Going on an anniversary road trip with the hubby for the holiday weekend. We live in California so plan on visiting every pier from San Diego to San Francisco. We got married on the beach on 4th of July so it's fitting that we'd stick with the beach theme. I love road trips!
  • @CaitLewis15 my husband and I went there last summer for our honeymoon and it is absolutely beautiful! Enjoy!!
  • DH and I just went to Mexico! We are also heading to St. Louis for a wedding this weekend! Then next weekend moving to our new home in Tulsa, Ok! So much going on I can't wait to just relax!! Someone take me back to the beach with them!

Jealous!  Some of you have really awesome stuff going on.
We don't have anything planned in advance other than a play in August.  I'm just gonna work on convincing my hubby that we need a Babymoon. :P  We'll see how that goes.

I also have 3 weddings I am doing cakes for this summer. Which will be super fun but a little stressful at the same time. One is my cousins and it's going to be so horribly tacky.  I can't even stand it.  Getting over her "theme" was one thing but who sends out invites with a note saying "We're only serving dessert so eat before you come."  It's over four hours, we need to be fed!  You better believe this momma is gonna be packing sandwiches, maybe I can deal them like drugs at the reception.

@elmann1 Thanks!! Hoping for nice weather while I'm there.  At least it will be a break from this ridiculous heat and humidity in Florida!  I haven't been to Chicago in the summer for a few years so I'm really looking forward to it.  And of course looking forward to all the good food! Nothing compares to food from home!!

Enjoy your visit with your inlaws and trying new food! :)
  • Moving this month, so we don't have time for a vacation. But we are taking a trip to the local zoo with some friends in a couple weeks. My husband used to volunteer there and it's always fun to hear his stories.
  • I have a "mini baby shower " coming up July 4th with my husband's sisters. Then in August my Aunt and cousin are throwing us one. I'm trying to stay busy but not over schedule. I'm going to spend time with our friends and family.
  • We are going to Brett Favre's number retirement at Green Bay (Yay! 8-| )  And other than a baby shower or two and I have my 20...yes 20 year class reunion in August.  Still on the fence about attending that one!  I still live in my hometown so to spend $70 for my husband and I to go somewhere and eat that we already go to throughout the year.....uuuuummmmm....no!)

  • @aposch Thank you!! Summers in Chicago are the BEST! We actually went to Florida (Amelia Island) for our vacation in May haha it was a great break from our winter/summer so I totally know what you mean! Let me know how your trip goes! I work in a high rise right by Navy Pier and it always looks like its poppin' on the nice days. Super gorgeous!
  • If we have a working car by then, at the end of July, I'll be taking DS to the zoo. This will be his second ever trip to a zoo (his 1st was at 4 months old), and it will be delightful to see the excitement on his face when he sees monkeys! hippos! giraffes! and other animals live in person.

@jenspeake... I know what you mean about being on the fence for class reunions! I have one coming up too, but they scheduled it for October! Being 38 weeks pregnant = almost best excuse ever not to attend!

  • We are renovating our house - half way done. I am so excited! Camping trips and pool time the rest of the summer!
  • I have my 10 year high school reunion coming up in a fee weeks, but I'm not sure that counts as exciting!

I plan to make a couple of trips to the beach and relax. We're also remodeling our kitchen.

My ten year high school reunion is this year as well! Although, I haven't decided if I will go. I will be 8 months pregnant and I'll probably want to sit in bed with a snoogle eating ice cream off my belly table. :)
  • @leighann1 We were in Charleston last week, too!

We are excited since we're having a "last bash before baby" in a few weeks-- getting all of our friends together, most of which are from out of town, and having a big party. Not a baby shower, but a "WOHOO lets party and play lawn games and eat great food and have lots of laughs and crash on the floor!" type party. Fingers crossed the weather is great-- it'll be like all of our favorite people in one place :)
  • Moving back to the good ol' US of A from Australia with my dude in a couple of weeks (or whenever his visa finishes processing.)

We aren't traveling anywhere far but we are going to try to do a few day trips this summer before the baby is born. I love that where I live we are less than 2 hours away from so many of the prettiest places in California. We frequent the bay area and the mountains often. I am thinking a couple low key hikes will be fun.
  • @elmann1 I actually live about 45 minutes from Amelia Island, on the south end of Jacksonville.  It's a beautiful area.  My husband has had a few conferences there for work so we got to stay the night last April and the year before at the Ritz!  So many cute shops and restaurants in the area!
  • We go to the beach on weekends when the weather is nice. We had planned a "camping" trip on our boat, but I don't think I'm up for that anymore! My baby shower is in August. Other than that I'll be up to my eyeballs in school until August 5th. So nothing too crazy exciting for this girl.
