Echogenic bowel

at my 18 week ultrasound my doctor found out my baby has echogenic bowel. I also have a single artery umbilical cord. My baby is growing right on track. He was even ahead at one point. He has a nasal bone measuring fine and everything else is working perfect. My dr said my chances of Down syndrome and cystic fibrosis increased because of these soft markers. My dr basically has me worried sick with no answers. I'm waiting for my gentic testing results which will take another week. Does anyone have positive experiences with echogenic bowel?

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I think you got some really good advice in the last thread you posted about this..?  It seems the general consensus is that echogenic foci usually clear up before birth.  Best of luck.

My daughter had an ecoghenic bowel as well. I passed all genetic testing and the next step would be surgery at birth to fuse the intestine. Upon birth, she went through a bunch of tests in NICU and everything turned out to be fine with no surgeries needed. Please try not to stress as hard as it is. Prayers to you.
