NICU in Florida

Hi All

My husband and I are having twins late December early January and we are moving to Florida particularly Orlando for the birth of the kids. Can anyone recommend

1.a hospital with a good NICU with good equipment for twin delivery

2. A OBGYN that I should register with once in Orlando.

Hi! I live in Orlando! Winnie Palmer Hospital has one of the largest level 3 NICUs in the nation. It is an excellent facility. I had my son there & despite needing a cesarean, I had a great experience. The labor and delivery nurses, as well as post partum & lactation, are amazing.

My old OB is Parmalee Thacher with Delaney OB GYN. I love her, the only reason I switched this time is because she doesn't do vbacs. My new OB is Terrence Peppy with Physicians Associates. He and his practice are vbac supportive and so far I really like him. My friend who is on her third high risk pregnancy loves him. Both physicians deliver at Winnie. I also live in Orlando and my OBGYN practice only delivers at Winnie Palmer as they recommend it's the best. Since I'm a first time mom, I won't pretend to know of the best OB suggestion. I do love mine though they are Women's Care Florida OB and GYN. I enjoy that their practice always has one of their own Doctors on call at Winnie Palmer and their own room 24/7 and will be able to have all my information and ready to go. This makes me feel much better considering my Jan 3rd due date and being around the Holidays.

You might have better luck at a Local message Board. Here are just women do in January. If you go to your local board it will be women in that area. They may be able to help you better. Good luck!

When I'm looking for a good doctor, I use Health Grades and other similar websites where patients review doctors. Once you find a doctor, I'm sure they'll help with the hospital.

I can't help you out with hospitals, but if for some reason your babies did need to be in the nicu, I would look into staying witht the local Ronald McDonald house. I can't say enough good things about them. We have had to stay there a couple times when my brother and sister stayed in the nicu. It really helped us as a family.

Check out the local board (although it is rather dead). However, as someone near Orlando I can tell you that I've heard amazing things about the Winnie Palmer and The Baby Place as far as NICU's go.
