Hi all
I'm pretty new to this board but I've been around on some others for quite a while.
I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 3-month-old daughter. We've had a fantastic time, she latched on straight away after birth and we've never had any troubles. I'm enjoying breastfeeding so much and I never thought I would!
However, an issue has arisen that I'm hoping someone can help me with. Every now and then I hold her to my boob when she's hungry and she tears her back away and makes a very unhappy noise. Most of the time she stops the minute I sit her upright, but then it'll happen again the next time. It's as if she's getting herself so worked up and tense that she can't relax into position. If possible, I end up feeding her lying down as it's the only way to get her to loosen and relax and actually eat. It's really upsetting me as I feel like I'm doing something wrong somewhere. My mum seems to think she's being nosy and doesn't want to be cradled any more. She in the 98th percentile for her height so I definitely feel like it may be position related. Can somebody help me?
Re: Pulling away
Another culprit might be gas...
Whenever i feed him I must do it in an empty and sometime dark room. My son really IS nosy lol and little sound will make him unlatch and fall back so he can look around . Sometimes it take 20 minutes just to get and keep him latched on . If I try to use my phone whil I'm feeding him he will try his hardest to see the screen .
At night it's the worst because I can't even have a nightlight or lamp on because he can see things lol
If her weight gain is good and she MOSTLY eats then I would try doing it somewhere where there are no distractions . Idk if it'll help but I definitely had to figure this one out
