Diagnosed with Subcrionic Hemorhage

Hi everyone,
This week has been a rough one. I am currently 11 weeks along with my second pregnancy (I have a little one who is 2). Monday morning I started bleeding heavily. I hadn't had any symptoms at all prior to this. So to say I was shocked when I saw the bright red blood would be an understatement. I called my midwife and they scheduled for me to come in for an ultrasound ASAP. I was fully expecting that I had miscarried. But when she did the ultrasound there was a beautiful tiny bouncing bean with a strong heartbeat. I was shocked and overcome with emotion that my baby was ok. My midwife told me that she thought it was a subcrionic hemorhage but she said it looks small. Well I just went in for an ultrasound this morning and got the results back this afternoon. My midwife was correct. It is a subcrionic hemorhage, but it isn't small like my midwife thought. My midwife was blunt with me (which I appreciate) and let me know that this does raise the risk of a miscarriage along with other possible complications. To me, this is absolutely terrifying.
Are there any other moms out there that have gone through this same thing? Any advice?

Thank you,

Very Worried Mom

  • I have one n bleed very heavily around 6 weeks. I had spotting once more but been good since so far I'm currently 9 weeks 2 days

  • I was just diagnosed with this on Sunday. The same thing happened to me, I am also 11 weeks and PGAL, so of course I freaked. The ER doc was very frank and said the same thing, but my OB seemed more optimistic. I have a friend who is a doctor as well and she said it is more common than we realize and most people go on to have normal healthy pregnancies. I was told to rest until bleeding stopped and for about a week after. Plus, no lifting at all and pelvic rest. Good luck! I think all us SCH girls need to stick together, it is so stressful!

  • I was diagnosed with 2 medium ones. I haven't had any bleeding though since early on. I take a suppository for low progesterone. And my dr said to just go on like normal, I didn't need to change my activities, and it would really make no difference one way or the other. I was surprised to find out others are on pelvic rest, and questioned my activities, but since I have no bleeding I guess it's all fine. She said they usually resolve by 12 weeks.
  • Same here! Though mine is small and possibly resolved now. Did she say where it is?
  • I'm in the same boat as you, but I was diagnosed at 8 weeks and ever since have been spitting regularly, although it is all old blood so that is good news. Baby has been fine every ultrasound since, but I've been nervous everyday! I go next Tuesday to check it out and it will have been almost two weeks since my last ultrasound. The spot is large and has only decreased a tiny bit, but faith and positive energy is what I have!
