2nd trimester exhaustion

I have been feeling as..if not more exhausted than I did during the first trimester. It doesn't matter if i get 6 hours of sleep or 10 hours of sleep I don't waken up feeling refreshed and have pretty much been having to nap everyday! Is anyone else having this? Is this normal? Everything I hear is you have so much energy the second trimester.

Yes and yes.  I've been more exhausted now than the 1st tri.  It seems normal.  Hang in there.

We're in the same boat ladies. I feel like my quality of sleep is worse, a lot more tossing and turning at night which is probably my problem.

I have wondered throughout both my pregnancy with DS and this one when that magical return of energy wasl going to happen. Nope. No energy here. I'm always tired. Some days are better than others but I never really stopped being tired.

I find that staying active, staying hydrated, and getting out of the house and exposed to natural light help some.

I feel the same exact way! Everyone was like "during your second trimester you will have a burst of energy..." I'll be in the third trimester next week and I'm still waiting on this burst of energy...

I'm tired all the time too. I'm having trouble sleeping as well.

The hormones must affect everyone differently. Not everyone has the same energy pattern throughout pregnancy.

@MamaOwl15 gave some good advice. I would add that eating balanced meals containing protein and complex carbs can also help keep you from experiencing sugar highs and lows that affect energy. One last thought: might want to check your iron levels. Since pregnancy involves increasing blood volume, you might not have enough iron in your blood, and anemia can cause or exacerbate fatigue.

I have been exhausted as well. The last couple of weeks I was so tired I couldn't even walk the dog after work. Not sure where you live, but I think the heat plays a big part. It has been extremely hot & humid here in the Northeast, but the last couple of days we've had some relief, and I feel much better. Last night I walked the dog, made dinner, did chores around the house. I was exhausted after, but still the best I've felt in weeks!

I'm feeling the exact same way. So tired more often and quality sleep is challenging. The 2nd trimester "energy" is not happening over here. Lol

This was my WTF Wednesday. I am not even getting up to pee more than once most nights and wake up exhausted. I think the heat plays a big part. It's not even July and I am over this summer already. I am MOH in a wedding 7/25 and think I may die.

I was so tired the first trimester, then I got some energy back, but now I feel like I lost it again.  I have been exhausted and napping again too!  I have to wonder if getting up to pee several times a night is part of the problem....

Still waiting over here! We just got a new Temperpedic and I am loving it, but still completely exhausted. I also have a little girl That will be 2 soon so I think that can the culprit too. Hope I feel rested one day.

I got some energy back in the second trimester (meaning I didn't want to nap after every meal!) but now I'm tired again! I was starting to wonder if it's the heat (around 100 in FL) or if it's because we are approaching the third trimester. Either way I'm tired and lazy!

I was very tired first trimester then slowly felt good then I just went down hill I feel very tired and at some times just weak but I sleep a good amount I think because of me having anemia it made it a bit worse.....

So relieved I'm not alone. I was wondering about possibly having low iron or something because I'm so tired. Still best to double check with doctor but I'm def there y'all!

I've been feeling this way too! I wake up 3-4 times in an 8 hour span of time to pee all night long. On top of that around 5am my body decides I am wide awake so by the time I fall back asleep it's 6:30am and my alarm goes off. I've been late for work almost everyday the last 3 weeks because I'm SO tired and can't get up.

I also have had no energy during the day or evening too. I feel like my lack of energy and sleep has led to a lack of patience as well.

@bgriest ugh I am exact same way!! My body wakes me up between 4-5. Can't fall back asleep until 6:630, then have to get up at 7. It's so hard to get up then. And I can't go to bed later bc I'm so freakin tired at night. Not to mention today for some reason felt like crap when I got home and now have been laying in bed since 8:30 feeling like vom.
