I had experienced some spotting early on and then a pretty intense bleed that lasted about 5 minutes then completely stopped, I went to the er and everything checked out okay but they sent me home with threatened miscarrage papers just incase but said that was precautionary and to try not to worry babu looked great. Well I went to a new doctor because mine was just no help to me and they saw blood in my ultrasound and said they didn't know how my previous doctor didn't see it. They want me to return in 2 weeks for a followup ultrasound to see if it resolves itself and the bleeding subsides..I still don't fully understand what's going on. I am happy to say I haven't had any spotting or bleeding since the scare at the er 2 weeks ago. Anyone ever experience this, or have anything for similar so confused. And hoping it "resolves" itself? They also said baby is growing beautifully and heartbeats 170. No problems baby wise which was a relief ...

I had the same problem.  For some reason I never bled, but I have had an instance of a clot.  This time, it subsided with progesterone supplements and taking it as easy as I can (I have a two year old).  My baby had a heartbeat of 174 and my OB is not worried.  Take it easy and ask your OB if progesterone could help.  Good luck!

  • Thanks makes me feel a little better they didn't say much besides they wanted me back in 2 weeks for a followup ultrasound so kinda just left wondering. .
  • Don't stress.  Get those feet up if you can and rest!  Progesterone does help with an internal bleed and it can't hurt!  Wishing you the best.  Hugs.

I had blood in my first ultrasound with my son. I never bled and it went away on its own. Baby was fine.

  • I've had blood with each ultrasound.  I've had bleeding since week 5 and my doctor say to expect more (since they can see it in there).  My only instance of red blood was at week 6, brown spotting/light bleeding ever since (at week 10 now).  I got to see the heartbeat at week 7/8 and my doctor said just to adjust to the fact that this "may be normal for me".  It's not the most comforting thing to go through, but they have convinced me that I'm fine, and only to call if there are any new symptoms (pain and heavy bleeding with clots).  I guess they were comfortable enough with my last ultrasound to make me wait almost 6 weeks for my next ultrasound.

    Hang in there...
  • Sounds like a "subchorionic hematoma". I had everything you described and that's what they diagnosed me with, so maybe? Anyway it usually resolves itself by either being reabsorbed or you bleed the rest out. It's only dangerous if it's in a really bad spot (say in between your placenta and uterine wall).
  • Ya they didn't really specify how much or where it was
  • I have that same thing. My dr saw it in out 9 week ultrasound. She said I may have some bleeding but that it's very common and a lot of women have them. She said its in a good place to have one if I was to have one and didn't seem concerned about it. She said sometimes they just re absorbed and with some women they bleed it out.
