damn pickles!

my mom gave me a jar of pickles... I wasn't craving them but now that I had them in my possession I was determined to eat them! The jar was soooo hard to open. I tried with all my might and then they slipped out of my hands and chipped our 4 month old counter top!!!! DARN PICKLES! And DH is gonna kill me :-SS

Re: damn pickles!

  • Oh no! Did the jar open at least? I've bought 4 jars in last 2 months, I swear it has to be the salt!
  • Loading the player...
  • Now I want a pickle, dammit! I did cave and buy a jar yesterday...

  • Awe not the counter top! As someone smack in the middle of renovations, I sympathize! I found some beautiful pickling cucumbers at the farmers market today so I tried pickling them. I've pickled many things but oddly enough not just plain old pickles. And now I don't get to have them for three days
  • I'm in bed and teeth are already brushed, but now I want a pickle badly.

I thought I'd be all over the pickles. I was really into these horseradish pickles until the morning sickness started. I haven't touched a pickle since.
  • I haven't had too many pickles (They are tasty, though.). My new favorite thing is feta stuffed green olives. *The feta is pasteurized
Highly recommend if you love olives and feta.

  • I've eaten a pickle almost everyday since becoming pregnant. If I skip a day, I make up for it the next day. I'm not ashamed- I've always loved pickles, I'll be the saddest kid on the planet when I don't love pickles anymore I pray that day never comes.
  • @KaraEpp16 I'll see your feta stuffed olives and raise you a blue cheese stuffed olive.

  • I haven't craved pickles yet but any time they're around I eat a ton of them. I've always loved pickles but a whole jar in one sitting?

I worked at a McDonald's when I was very early in this pregnancy. When we close down, we just throw away all the unused condiments anyway, so I would snag a cup of pickles from the kitchen and eat them in the car home... if I brought them home the boyfriend would eat all of them or get mad at me for being loud when he was trying to sleep. I miss them... </3
  • I actually just finished eating a pickle when I started reading this post. I absolutely love them! Can't get enough:). I am sorry about the counter top though hopefully it's not that bad.
  • That does stink about the counter. . . . Especially when u are determined to get into them. I have had the worst metallic taste in my mouth for weeks. Last week I become obsessed with eating pineapple. I researched it and found that anything acidic helps with the metallic taste (Dysgeusia) - especially pickles!. I went straight time the store and bought a ton of every flavor pickle!. It's caused from estrogen and I'm taking estrogen pills so it makes sense. Bottom line. . . . Pickles are awesome!!!
  • Just had 4 pickles with dinner. No shame.
  • Claussens "Always Chilled" Pickles. Ohh yeah

@scblonde007 I just had to text my husband to bring me dill pickle potato chips on his way home from football practice....okay....and maybe a frosty
  • My mom and I can pickles every year. Nothing beats homemade pickles. I'm going to eat the whole jar when I get home.

  • This was me with olives this week haha
  • Crazy for pickles! But always have been. Love the crispy chicken sandwich from Wendy's with all the pickles!
  • @kemerson531 the only pickles (other than huge proper sour or kosher dills from a deli like katz's) worth eating!! I just had a spear right before coming up to bed, first thing I did when I got home, NO SHAME.

I am already a huge pickle lover so being pregnant and craving them is so much worse. My coworkers know how much I love them and multiple of them will bring them to work for me. When I would do closing shifts my manager would let me eat them.
  • I wish I could munch on some pickles...love love them but this baby does not lol...every time I try even a bite it come right back up :(
  • @bananers how do you get the crisp in your canned? Mine are always lacking
