hey, I know it's early but I want to start planning as soon as possible so I can spread the cost of everything throughout pregnancy. I'm 9 weeks today and if anybody has a list of all essentials that would be really appreciated Thankyou
I was 9 weeks yesterday ☺️ I think diapers, wipes, swaddled blankets with Velcro. Something for baby to sleep in, I used the rock n play for my second and she LOVED it! I got it at target. Bottles and however you are planning to feed, those necessary supplies. Burp cloths. I used to look at random registries online by searching common last names and got a ton of great ideas!
Diapers, wipes, spit up blankets, onesies, formula (if that's the way you're going), bottles, pacifier, bathing supplies(wash, lotion, towels) and a place to lay baby. I kept a schedule/journal of my DDs feedings, changes and sleep to find her routine. Major help! Take the blue boogie sucker from the hospital. I sucked DDs spit up and her nose with that so much, I took 2.
For me- I needed hemhroid stuff and very large, thick pads. I was prepared for the breast milk to show up with two sports bras to contain those puppies(milk never came in) and large comfy house clothes. Also food for me. I wasn't about to cook but I was so hungry at home.
Everyone uses something different.

Are you planning on having a shower? If so, a lot of things may be gifted to you. Assuming you're starting from 0 as a FTM: Furniture - crib, dresser (you can store clothes/diapers and use top as changing table), rocking chair, small end table for lamp, tissues, snacks & water for you during feeding Layette - onesies, hats, receiving blankets, warmer blanket for car seat Diapers, wipes, towels, washcloths, rash cream (I really like Burt's Bees @ Target), bath soap Diaper bag Teether rings/toys Soft carrier - I really prefer my ring sling, but there are a ton of different styles out there so you may want to research that before you pick one. Eta thought of a little more for you - Nursing bra, or comfy wireless bra (even if you don't bf you will still get engorged) Ice packs (helped soothe engorgement for me) Tie-waist sweat pants, or soft pants with a loose waist (I had a c/s first time and could not stand anything with tight elastic or non-stretch waistband touching the surgery area for weeks - not saying you will have one but its good prep) Some people swear by lanolin, but I didn't find it to work as well for me as just letting some breast milk dry on my nipples after DD nursed in the beginning.
I waited until after the baby shower with #1, at 32 weeks. Then I was able to supplement what had been gifted. This one we won't do a shower, but I will probably still wait til the holidays when all the stores are having crazy sales.
Baby first aid/grooming kits....they usually include - thermometer, nail clippers, hair brush, the nasal squeegee thing and some other stuff. I will probably put one on my registry FTMs might not think about those things until they need it.
I don't think I want a baby shower, I've always been so shy and I absolutely hate being the centre of attention so I don't think I would like a shower, so will probably buy everything myself where would you say is best to shop?

I'm the same way but my friends were aware of that so they tried their best to keep the some of the attention off of me (there was a lot of eating)! Everyone is different but I know my large extended family would've just started mailing us stuff if we didn't have a shower.
No matter what definitely start a registry. Search for registry on this board and you'll see a few threads pop up where everyone has discussed the pros and cons of registering at different places (like completion coupons). You can always fudge the dates some so you can get the coupon a little earlier. In those threads you'll also see a lot of STM+ chimed in with what they found they needed and didn't need with their babies! If I see the threads I'll try to link them for you!
I hate being the center of attention also... with my DD, I managed to go into labor the day before my shower, so I wasn't able to attend. It was a work shower and was a joint one, so they still showered the other girl, and I just had close work friends bring me everything once I got home from the hospital. Perfect timing, if you ask me.

I've had the best luck in my area with Target. They have pretty much everything.
One thing we noticed right away with our first is having some larger baby clothes available because DD's umbilical cord nub stayed attached for 2 weeks and we didn't want anything rubbing on it too much.
If you start buying early, don't get too much "newborn" stuff. We were gifted a lot of clothes, especially NB size and she was out of them in a couple weeks (we didn't even use until her cord fell off.) My niece only wore them 1 week because she was a bit bigger baby. Same for newborn diapers. Diapers are spendy - don't overstock on something that may be too small. Once baby is here send your SO out to get things if you need more NB.
My newborn essentials are definitely diapers, wipes, onesies, some soft pants, and footed pjs. I would also get some swaddle blankets and lotion/soap. Oh and I'm making sure I have saline drops & my Nose Frida on hand when this baby is born. DS had horrible newborn congestion.
As many old style folding cloth diapers as you can. We use them for EVERYTHING, they are the perfect size for burp rags and such as well as cleaning up everyday messes (food, poo, other). We pretty much kept buying more packages until we hit the sweet spot of "I have half in the washing machine and half out". We use these:
