Twins?

Hi all. I am 11weeks+4days. This will be #2 for me. I feel like i am showing way more than i 'should' be at this point. With my 1st i didnt even get a 'pudge' till 5 months! I have my 1st appointment and ultrasound next week. How early will they be able to tell how many are 'in there' (lol). I heard you typically dont find out till the gender appointment at about 18weeks but i have an overwhelming feeling like i am having more than one this time around. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm also showing super early and have convinced myself it's twins!  I'm a ftm and everything I've read says that you 'show' faster with each subsequent baby, so you might just be showing earlier because this isn't your first.  With ultrasound I think it will be pretty much 100% sure that there either are or aren't 2 in there.  I had my first apt today and am still none the wiser, the midwife said my uterus was higher in my pelvis than would be expected for me at 11w3d, but its not conclusive or anything.  We only found 1 heartbeat on the Doppler but aren't having an ultrasound until 18-20 weeks, so we might not know for sure until then. 

I'm scared of having twins just because I know pregnancy and delivery risks go up, but they are still pretty low overall, so I'm trying to stay chill about the whole thing.

An ultrasound would show twins right away. We saw ours at 5 weeks.

STMs show a lot sooner (usually by 12 weeks or so) with pregnancies. If it was twins, an ultrasound would pick it up at the earliest, 5ish weeks.
